U18 SLOVENIA - U18 BELGIUM 58-56 OT

A fantastic double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds by Eva Lisec (191-C-95) helped Slovenia claim a memorable 58-56 overtime success against troubled Belgium, who slipped to successive defeats at the U18 European Championship. Lisec made a lay-up for Slovenia setting the score to 58-56 with 20 seconds left in OT. After timeout, Antonia Delaere (176-F/G-94) missed for 3 at the other side, but she grabbed an offensive rebound. Camille Lebrun received the ball and she also tried from behind the arc, but missed with 5 seconds to go. Slovenia grabbed defensive rebound and at the same time thriller win in this meeting. Quarters: 10-12, 10-18, 10-12, 22-10, 6-4 OT. Slovenia improved to 1-1 in Group D and already booked a spot for the next stage. Belgium dropped to 0-2 with no chance to advance. As mentioned above, Lisec was a key player in victory and Nina Gabrovsek (168-PG-94) followed her with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Alina Gjerkes (177-F-94) had 12 points and 7 rebs. In Belgium, Hind Ben Abdelkader (170-SF-95) collected 22 points. Delaere scored 13 and Anneleen Da Baets (161-SG-95) netted 8 pts. Today, Slovenia will meet Serbia for the second place in the group. Belgium will play against Italy.

After trailing by five, Athlete Celje went on a 14-4 run in the final six minutes to close out the game and the Slovenian championship series with a 66-61 win over Triglav in Game 3 of the best of five series. Athlete Celje got the job done in Game 2 of Slovenian League Finals, taking down Triglav 60-50 on road. This give Celje a 2-0 lead in the best of the five series.
