It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in 2SKL, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders.

Undefeated Radenska (3-1) recorded its first loss on the court of twelfth ranked Crnomelj on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Crnomelj 73-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Radenska. Radenska was trailing by 11 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 16-9 charge of Crnomelj, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Anze Cerkovnik (200-86) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Mihael Ivanusa (183-80) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Center Davorin Skornik (211-81, college: Bucknell) produced 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Crnomelj (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Parklji. Radenska at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Triglav Strazisce. Crnomelj is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Litija (#13) on the road in the next round. Radenska will play against Parklji (#9) in Bezigrad and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Smlednik. Fourth ranked Lastovka (4-1) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Postojna (3-2) 85-84 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Postojna. Center Milan Klepo (211-80) saved the victory by scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Klemen Balazic contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Lastovka's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Savo Milovic (194-86) answered with 23 points and 7 rebounds for Postojna. Lastovka moved-up to second place. Postojna at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Lastovka will play against Sencur CP (#8) in Kranj in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Postojna will play at home against Terme Olimia in Podcetrtek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Koper. Leader Splosna plovba faced 3rd placed Koper. Guests from Portoroz (5-0) defeated host Koper (3-2) 89-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Koper. Adin Kavgic stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Miha Markic responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Undefeated Splosna plovba have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Newly promoted Koper dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Splosna plovba will meet at home Triglav Strazisce (#4) in the next round. Koper will play against Hrastnik and hope to secure a win.
Bottom-ranked Branik (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-54 loss to sixth ranked Triglav Strazisce (3-1) in Kranj. Crt Ristic nailed 13 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winning side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Triglav Strazisce moved-up to third place, which they share with Radenska. Branik lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Triglav Strazisce's next round opponent will be league's leader Splosna plovba in Portoroz and it will be for sure the game of the week.

In the last two games of round 5 Hrastnik was defeated by Terme Olimia in Podcetrtek 68-62. Sencur CP smashed Parklji at home 97-70.

Triglav Strazisce - Branik 83-54

Bottom-ranked Branik (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-54 loss to sixth ranked Triglav Strazisce (3-1) in Kranj. The game without a history. Triglav Strazisce led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Branik to just 7 points in first quarter. Triglav Strazisce forced 25 Branik turnovers and outrebounded them 42-26 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Branik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Crt Ristic (182-89) nailed 13 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and Jure Kopac (199-94) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Matic Grusovnik (195-95) came up with 11 points and Matjaz Ajhmajer added 10 points respectively for Branik in the defeat. There was no surprise in Podcetrtek where 10th ranked Hrastnik (1-4) was defeated by eighth ranked Terme Olimia (3-2) 68-62. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Hrastnik won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Terme Olimia made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Guard Beno Pungartnik (192-82) nailed 23 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and naturalized Bosnian power forward Fuad Memcic (210-82, agency: Promotex) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Dean Sipura (194-87) came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Matic Babic (-90) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Hrastnik in the defeat. Center Milan Klepo (211-80) saved the victory by scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Klemen Balazic (194-89) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Lastovka's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. No shocking result in a game in Kranj where seventh ranked Sencur CP (3-2) smashed 9th ranked Parklji (1-3) 97-70. The game without a history. Sencur CP led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sencur CP forced 19 Parklji turnovers and outrebounded them 40-16 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Parklji's players. Kosovan guard Dragan Pusic (193-84) nailed 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and forward Aljaz Urbanc (197-84) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds. Matic Urbas (-93) came up with 13 points and 7 steals and guard Luka Hren (198-90, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) added 10 points respectively for Parklji in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sencur CP moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Parklji at the other side keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Sencur CP's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Lastovka in Smlednik and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Parklji will play at home against Radenska (#3) in Murska Sobota.
