We bring you last week's top performances from Slovenians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international shooting guard Sasha Vujacic (201-84, currently plays in Euroleague). He led his Turkish team Anadolu Efes to a victory over the fourth-ranked Armani Milano (2-4) 77-71 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. Vujacic was MVP of the game. He scored 29 points (!!!) and added 3 passes in 34 minutes on the court. Anadolu Efes Istanbul (4-2) is placed second in group C. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Vujacic has relatively good stats this year: 13.7ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.3apg, 3FGP: 54.2%(13-24) and FT: 71.9% in the six games he played so far. He played for the Slovenian senior national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Goran Dragic (190-86, currently plays in NBA). Dragic was the main contributor in a 2-point Phoenix Suns' victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers (2-6) 107-105 in the NBA last Friday. He was the best player in that game. Dragic scored 26 points (!!!) and added 4 assists. The Phoenix Suns have 4-6 record this season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Dragic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.7ppg, 2.7rpg, 7.2apg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 53.8%, 3FGP: 37.2% and FT: 72.9%. Dragic played for the Slovenian national team in 2011.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international point guard Beno Udrih (194-82, currently plays in NBA). He contributed to a Milwaukee Bucks' victory against the Indiana Pacers (4-6) 99-85 in the NBA on Wednesday night. Udrih recorded 9 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 3 steals in 27 minutes. The Milwaukee Bucks have a solid 5-2 record this season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Udrih has relatively solid stats: 7.7ppg, 3.2rpg, 3.8apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 51.5%, 3FGP: 33.3% in the six games. He played for the Slovenian national team two years ago.

Power forward Erazem Lorbek (209-84, college: Michigan St., currently plays in Euroleague) was the major contributor in a Regal FC Barcelona's victory against the fourth-ranked Brose Baskets Bamberg (2-4) crushing them 86-66 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Lorbek scored 14 points. Regal FC Barcelona (6-0) is placed first in group D. So far his team won all six games in the Regular Season. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Lorbek's fourth season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 9.7ppg and 2.7rpg. Lorbek used to play for the Slovenian national team last year.

   #5. Former international forward Bostjan Nachbar (207-80, currently plays in Euroleague) faced previously mentioned Erazem Lorbek in the Euroleague last game. Nachbar, who plays in Germany could not help Brose Baskets Bamberg (2-4) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the fourth-placed Brose Baskets Bamberg was badly defeated 86-66 on the road by the leading Regal FC Barcelona in the group D of Euroleague. Nachbar was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 32 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Nachbar's first season with the team. Nachbar belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #3 with 18.5ppg. This year he also averages: 5.3rpg and 1.8apg in the six games. Nachbar used to play for the Slovenian national team two years ago.

Swingman Zoran Dragic (196-89, currently plays in Spain) helped Unicaja Malaga win their game against one of league's weakest teams Lagun Aro GBC (1-7) 67-54 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. He recorded 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Unicaja Malaga (5-2) is placed sixth in the ACB. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Dragic's overall stats this season are: 7.9ppg and 3.1rpg. He is international player as he played for the Slovenian senior team one years ago.

   #7. Former international power forward Gasper Vidmar (211-87, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to help Besiktas (3-3) in their game against Partizan (1-5) in the Euroleague. Vidmar scored 7 points, had 10 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 25 minutes. Besiktas (#3) lost 72-87 in Beograd to the lower-ranked (#5) Partizan in the group D of Euroleague. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. This year Vidmar's overall stats are: 5.2ppg and 5.5rpg in the six games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team two years ago.

   #8. Guard Bojan Krivec (188-87, currently plays in Croatia) helped Kvarner 2010 win their game against the seventh-ranked Krizevci (3-4) 85-74 in the Croatian A1 on Saturday night. Krivec recorded 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in 33 minutes. KK Kvarner 2010 Rijeka (6-1) is placed second in the A1. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Krivec is ranked first on the list of the best passers in the league with 6.0apg. This year his other stats are: 9.0ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.6spg in the seven games. Krivec used to play for the Slovenian U18 national team back in 2005.

   #9. International center Mirza Begic (217-85, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to secure a victory for Real Madrid (4-2) in their game against Panathinaikos (3-3) in the Euroleague. He scored 6 points. Real Madrid (#2) was defeated 79-68 in Athens by the lower-ranked Panathinaikos (#4) in the group A of Euroleague. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. Begic's total stats this season are: 6.8ppg and 4.3rpg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team last year.

   #10. Small forward Emir Preldzic (205-87, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help Fenerbahce Ulker (3-3) in their game against Khimky (4-2) in the Euroleague. Preldzic scored 8 points and added 4 passes in 24 minutes. Fenerbahce Ulker (#3) was edged 71-70 in Khimki by the leading Khimky in the group A of Euroleague. Preldzic is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his sixth year in Fenerbahce Ulker's roster. This season his total stats are: 9.2ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.3apg in the six games. Preldzic is a former international player as four years ago he still played for the Slovenian senior national team.

   #11. Former international point guard Aleksandar Capin (186-82, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Adriatic League) helped his Serbian team Radnicki KG win their game against the 11th-ranked Cibona 85-81 in the Adriatic League on Saturday night. He scored 21 points, made 4 passes and 3 steals. Capin is ranked ninth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best passers (first place). He has very reliable stats this season: 13.2ppg, 2.3rpg, 4.5apg and 1.5spg. Capin used to play for the Slovenian national team four years ago.

   #12. International guard Jaka Lakovic (186-78, currently plays in Turkey) managed to help Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul in a victory against the seventh-ranked TED Kolejliler crushing them 90-66 in the Turkish TBL in Saturday night's game. He scored 5 points in 16 minutes. This year Lakovic averages only 1.7ppg in the three games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team last year.

   #13. Former international forward Dragisa Drobnjak (200-77, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Belgium), who plays in the Belgian Ethias League couldn't help Base Oostende (4-3) in their last game on Friday. Despite Drobnjak's very good performance Base Oostende was defeated 95-89 in Aalst by the leading Okapi ar. He recorded 15 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Drobnjak has reliable stats this season: 14.7ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.7apg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team four years ago.

   #14. Former U20 international center Salih Nuhanovic (208-82, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic NBL couldn't help Levice (5-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Nuhanovic's very good performance Levice was edged 80-77 at home by the lower-ranked BK Usti nad Labem (#11). He was the top scorer with 23 points. Nuhanovic also added 9 rebounds and made 4 blocks. Nuhanovic belongs to league's best blockers and is ranked #2. This season he has very good stats: 11.8ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.7bpg. Nuhanovic used to play for the Slovenian U20 national team back in 2002.

   #15. Former U20 international guard Maj Kovacevic (190-90, currently plays in Slovakia) helped Nitra win their game against one of league's weakest teams SKP Banska Bystrica 102-85 in the Slovakian Extraliga last Wednesday. He was the top player that evening. Kovacevic scored 25 points in 33 minutes. Kovacevic is currently seventh on the list of top scorers with 16.3ppg. This year he also averages: 2.0rpg in the nine games. Kovacevic used to play for the Slovenian U20 national team two years ago.

   #1. Vlado Ilievski (190-PG-80, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague) led his Croatian team Cedevita to a double overtime (!!!) victory against the leader Zalgiris (5-1) 108-106 in the Euroleague last Thursday. Ilievski scored 16 points. KK Cedevita Zagreb (2-4) is placed fifth in group C. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. This season Ilievski averages only 6.0ppg. He has a dual citizenship: FYR Macedonian and Slovenian.

   #2. Rasid Mahalbasic (211-C-90, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Poland could not help Asseco Prokom Gdynia (1-5) to beat Chalon/Saor (2-4). Mahalbasic scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 18 minutes. Asseco Prokom Gdynia (#6) lost 70-76 on the road to the higher-ranked (#5) Chalon/Saor in the group B of Euroleague. It was Asseco Prokom Gdynia's third consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. Mahalbasic has averaged so far 6.3ppg and 4.7rpg in the six games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Austrian and Slovenian.

   #3. Vladimir Boisa (209-C/F-81, agency: World Sport Agency, currently plays in Georgia) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider STU (0-5) crushing them 95-42 in a derby game in the Georgian Superleague on Saturday night. He recorded 7 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. BC Armia Tbilisi (4-0) is placed second in the Superleague. So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season. Boisa has averaged so far 5.3ppg, 7.7rpg and 2.7apg. He has both Slovenian and Georgian nationalities.

   #4. Marko Milicevic (204-F-82, currently plays in Greece) led Ikaroi Serron to a 2-point victory over the 12th-ranked Doxa Lefkadas (1-6) 71-69 in the Greek A2 (second division) last Saturday. Milicevic was the top player that evening. He scored 20 points and blocked 2 shots in 26 minutes. AOK Ikaroi Serron (5-2) is placed fourth in the A2. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Milicevic has averaged so far 9.2ppg and 3.3rpg in the six games. He also holds two passports: Serbian and Slovenian.

   #5. Jure Balazic (204-F-80, currently plays in Turkey) was not able to help Erdemir (2-4) in their game against Galatasaray (4-1) in the Turkish TBL. Balazic scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Erdemir was crushed 85-62 at home by the much higher-ranked Galatasaray (#3). It was Erdemir's third consecutive loss in a row. Balazic has averaged so far 9.8ppg and 5.0rpg.

   #6. Uros Benacek (206-C-92, currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to a BC Kolin's victory against the ninth-ranked Basketbal Svitavy 76-70 in the Czech Republic NBL last Saturday. He scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Benacek has averaged so far 2.9ppg and 1.1rpg.

   #7. Mladen Loncarevic (209-C/F-91, college: Weatherford JC, currently plays in Bosnia) helped KK Radnik Bijeljina win their game against the seventh-ranked Zrinjski HT 77-66 in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I on Saturday night. He recorded 7 points in only 12 minutes. Loncarevic has averaged so far 6.7ppg and 1.7rpg in the three games. He has Slovenian and Bosnia and Herzegovina nationalities.

   #8. Rene Zvan (182-PG-87, currently plays in Slovakia) helped Nitra win their game against the league outsider Svit crushing them 101-77 in the Slovakian Extraliga on Saturday night. Zvan scored 6 points and added 4 assists. Zvan has averaged so far 3.3ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.7apg.

   #9. Damir Zeleznik (185-G-80, currently plays in Austria) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Xion Dukes in their game against BC Vienna in the Austrian A Bundesliga. He recorded 6 points and added 3 assists in 31 minutes. His team lost 74-79. Zeleznik has averaged so far 6.2ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.5apg in the six games. Maj Kovacevic (ex Siroki Primorka) signs at Zadar - 5 days ago

KK Zadar (A1) landed 26-year old Slovenian guard Maj Kovacevic (196-85kg-90). He played most recently at Siroki Primorka in Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. In 30 games he averaged 13.4ppg, 2.0rpg, 1.9apg and 1.2spg last season. Kovacevic helped them to make it to the cup final. The previous (14-15) season he played at Pagrati in A2 where in 25 games he had 12.1ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.3apg.
