Smodis
Krka announced the signing of Matjaz Smodis (205-F-79), who has been one of Europes top big men over the past decade. Smodis is a three-time Euroleague champion, with two of those titles coming during his recent six-year stay with CSKA Moscow. He grew up with Krka Novo Mesto, where he was a starter as a teenager and led the club to the 2000 Slovenian League championship. He spent the next three seasons at Virtus Bologna, where in 2001 he won the triple crown: His first Euroleague title plus the Italian League and Cup titles. Smodis moved to rival Fortitudo Bologna for the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons. He helped that team reach the Euroleague title game in the first of those seasons and win the Italian League in the second. Over the following six years, Smodis estrablished himself as a star and a winner by helping CSKA reach five Euroleague Final Fours and winning the title in 2006 and 2008 in addition to six Russian championship and three Russian Cups. He also became the first non-Russian team captain in CSKAs illustrious history. He was named to the 2006-07 All-Euroleague Second Team. Smodis is a member of the Slovenian national team, which he has represented on five occasions at the European Championship..

Primorska erased a 14-point third quarter deficit to beat Sencur GGD 67-61 in the Slovenian League Round 9 and Tajfun used an early 22-1 run to beat Terme Olimia 67-52. Terme Olimia-Tajfun Sentjur 52-67: After trailing 2-6, Tajfun scored 17 straight points to ignite a 22-1 run for a 24-7 lead early in the second quarter. Rogaska-Zlatorog 69-73: Rogaska went on an 11-0 run spanning halftime to take a lead 41-31, their largest advantage of the night. At that point, Zlatorog's Ramo Rizvic (200-F-87) sank back-to-back 3-pointers to ignite a 20-0 run for a 51-41 lead. Rogaska cut the deficit to one, 62-63, with two minutes left.
