We bring you last week's top performances from Slovenians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international point guard Beno Udrih (194-82, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Milwaukee Bucks (7-7) in their last game. Despite Udrih's very good performance the Milwaukee Bucks lost 88-102 on the road to the New York Knicks. He was the second best scorer with 18 points in 25 minutes on the court. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Udrih has relatively good stats this year: 8.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.3apg, 2FGP: 53.4%, 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 75.0% in the 13 games he played so far. He played for the Slovenian senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international power forward Gasper Vidmar (211-87, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Turkey. Vidmar was not able to help Besiktas (4-4) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the third-placed Besiktas was crushed 78-48 at home by the leading Regal FC Barcelona in the group D of Euroleague. Vidmar was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 6 rebounds and made 3 blocks. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Vidmar's first season with the team. This year Vidmar averages: 7.4ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 61.0%(25-41) and FT: 25.7%. He played for the Slovenian national team in 2010.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international shooting guard Sasha Vujacic (201-84, currently plays in Euroleague). Vujacic was the major contributor in an Anadolu Efes' victory against the fifth-ranked Cedevita (2-6) 81-73 in the Euroleague on Thursday night. He scored 17 points in 31 minutes. Anadolu Efes Istanbul (5-3) is placed third in group C. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Vujacic has relatively solid stats: 13.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 37.5%, 3FGP: 56.7%(17-30) and FT: 72.2% in the eight games. He played for the Slovenian national team three years ago.

   #4. Point guard Goran Dragic (190-86, currently plays in NBA) led Phoenix Suns to a victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers (4-12) 91-78 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Dragic was MVP of the game. He recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The Phoenix Suns have 7-10 record this season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Dragic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.6ppg, 3.1rpg, 6.6apg and 2.0spg. Dragic used to play for the Slovenian national team last year.

Former international small forward Emir Preldzic (205-87, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Turkey was not able to secure a victory for Fenerbahce Ulker (4-4) in their last game. Despite his good performance Fenerbahce Ulker (#4) was badly defeated 77-61 in Madrid by the leading Real in the group A of Euroleague. Preldzic was the second best scorer with 10 points in 26 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Preldzic is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his sixth year in Fenerbahce Ulker's roster. This season his overall stats are: 9.5ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.8apg in the eight games. Preldzic has a dual citizenship: Slovenian and Turkish. He used to play for the Slovenian national team four years ago.

   #6. Guard Bojan Krivec (188-87, currently plays in Croatia) was the main contributor in a 2-point Kvarner 2010's victory against the sixth-ranked KK Zabok (4-5) 76-74 in the Croatian A1 on Saturday night. Krivec was the best player in that game. He scored 21 points. KK Kvarner 2010 Rijeka (8-1) is placed first in the A1. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Krivec is currently first on the league's list of best passers. His total stats this season are: 9.8ppg, 1.8rpg, 5.1apg and 1.3spg. Krivec is a former U18 international player as he played for the Slovenian team seven years ago.

International power forward Uros Slokar (210-83, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams G.Canaria 2014 (7-3) in their game against Valencia Basket (8-2) in the Spanish ACB, despite his good performance in Saturday night's game. He was the top scorer with 12 points. Slokar also added 5 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. But G.Canaria 2014 lost 65-79 on their home court in Las Palmas to the higher-ranked (#3) Valencia Basket. They ended the series of five consecutive victories. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. This year Slokar's total stats are: 5.6ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.2apg in the five games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team last year.

   #8. Forward Bostjan Nachbar (207-80, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help Brose Baskets Bamberg (2-6) in their game against CSKA Moscow (7-1) in the Euroleague. Despite his very good performance last Thursday Nachbar scored 15 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. Nachbar is ranked third on the list of the top scorers in the league. This season he has very high stats. Nachbar averages: 16.6ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.8apg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2010.

Former international point guard Aleksandar Capin (186-82, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Adriatic League) contributed to a Radnicki KG's victory against one of league's weakest teams KK Zadar (3-8) 92-79 in the Adriatic League in Saturday night's game. Capin was the top player that evening. He scored 18 points and added 8 assists. Radnicki Kragujevac (6-5) is placed sixth in the Adriatic League. Capin is currently sixth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best passers (second place). He has very reliable stats this season: 14.3ppg, 2.1rpg, 4.5apg and 1.4spg. Capin used to play for the Slovenian national team four years ago.

Power forward Primoz Brezec (216-79, currently plays in VTB United League) helped his Russian team BC Nizhny Novgorod win their game against the seventh-ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk (2-3) 67-62 in the VTB United League last Friday. He was the top player that evening. Brezec scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 29 minutes. BC Nizhny Novgorod (4-2) is placed fifth in group B. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Brezec has reliable stats this year: 12.8ppg and 6.2rpg in the six games. He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Slovenian senior national team.

   #11. International swingman Zoran Dragic (196-89, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Unicaja Malaga in their game against Caja Laboral in the Spanish ACB. Dragic scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was defeated 90-79. Dragic has averaged so far 7.2ppg and 3.0rpg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team last year.

   #12. International power forward Miha Zupan (205-82, currently plays in Turkey) helped Turk Telekom win their game against the 14th-ranked Olin Edirne 81-78 in the Turkish TBL in Saturday night's game. Zupan had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 12 rebounds in 40 minutes. Zupan's stats this year are: 11.0ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.9apg in the eight games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team last year.

   #13. International power forward Erazem Lorbek (209-84, college: Michigan St., currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Regal FC Barcelona in their game against Valencia Basket in the Spanish ACB. Lorbek scored only 4 points. His team was edged 81-78. Lorbek averaged so far 11.0ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.1apg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team last year.

   #14. International center Mirza Begic (217-85, currently plays in Euroleague) faced previously mentioned Emir Preldzic in the Euroleague last game. Begic managed to help Real Madrid to win against the fourth-ranked Fenerbahce Ulker 77-61. He scored only 2 points and blocked 2 shots. Begic has averaged so far 5.6ppg and 3.5rpg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team last year.

   #15. Former U20 international center Salih Nuhanovic (208-82, currently plays in Czech Republic) couldn't help Levice in their game against B&W Opava in the Czech Republic NBL, despite his very good performance last Saturday. Nuhanovic was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 9 rebounds in 38 minutes. But his team was crushed by 28 points 83-55. Nuhanovic belongs to league's best blockers and is ranked #2 with 1.6bpg. This year he also averages: 11.5ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.2apg in the 13 games. Nuhanovic used to play for the Slovenian U20 national team ten years ago.

   #1. Rasid Mahalbasic (211-C-90, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Poland could not help Asseco Prokom Gdynia (1-7) in their last game. Despite Mahalbasic's good performance Asseco Prokom Gdynia (#6) was edged 67-64 on the road by the higher-ranked (#4) ALBA Berlin in the group B of Euroleague. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 10 rebounds in 24 minutes. It was Asseco Prokom Gdynia's fifth consecutive loss in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. Mahalbasic has averaged so far 7.4ppg and 5.8rpg in the eight games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Austrian and Slovenian.

   #2. Vlado Ilievski (190-PG-80, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to help Cedevita (2-6) in their game against Anadolu Efes (5-3) in the Euroleague. Ilievski scored 7 points in 26 minutes. Cedevita (#5) lost 73-81 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Anadolu Efes in the group C of Euroleague. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. Ilievski has averaged so far 6.0ppg, 1.1rpg and 1.3apg in the eight games. He is another player who holds two passports: FYR Macedonian and Slovenian.

   #3. Uros Benacek (206-C-92, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to secure a victory for BC Kolin (8-5) in their game against CEZ Nymburk (13-0) in the Czech Republic NBL. He recorded 8 points. BC Kolin was crushed 94-67 on their home court in Kolin by the leading CEZ Nymburk. Benacek has averaged so far 3.3ppg and 1.6rpg.

   #4. Vladimir Boisa (209-C/F-81, agency: World Sport Agency, currently plays in Georgia) couldn't help Armia (5-1) in their game against MIA (6-0) in the Georgian Superleague. He scored 8 points in 24 minutes. Armia lost 69-80 in a derby game to the leading MIA. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. Boisa has averaged so far 6.0ppg, 6.0rpg and 2.3apg in the four games. He has both Slovenian and Georgian nationalities.

   #5. Rene Zvan (182-PG-87, currently plays in Slovakia) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Nitra (8-4) in their game against Komarno (9-2) in the Slovakian Extraliga. Zvan recorded 8 points in 18 minutes. Nitra lost 61-73 on their home court in Nitra to the leading Komarno. It was Nitra's first loss after five consecutive victories. Zvan has averaged so far 3.4ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.9apg in the nine games.

   #6. Jure Balazic (204-F-80, currently plays in Turkey) managed to help Erdemirspor Eregli to win against the closely-ranked Aliaga 71-61 in the Turkish TBL on Saturday night. He recorded only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Balazic has averaged so far 8.0ppg and 5.3rpg.

   #7. Nejc Strnad (190-PG-83, currently plays in Greece) contributed to a 1-point Ikaros' victory against the league outsider Kavala 83-82 in the Greek A1 in Sunday night's game. He recorded only 3 points in 7 minutes on the court. This year Strnad averages just 1.3ppg in the seven games.

   #8. Mladen Loncarevic (209-C/F-91, college: Weatherford JC, currently plays in Bosnia) contributed to a 2-point KK Radnik Bijeljina's victory against the ninth-ranked Leotar 67-65 in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I on Saturday night. He scored only 1 points and added 3 passes. Loncarevic has averaged so far 5.3ppg and 1.8rpg. He also holds two passports: Slovenian and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

   #9. Marko Milicevic (204-F-82, currently plays in Greece) couldn't help Ikaroi Serron in their game against Koroivos in the Greek A2 (second division). Milicevic cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 24 minutes. His team lost 64-68. Milicevic has averaged so far 7.4ppg and 3.3rpg in the eight games. He has dual citizenship: Serbian and Slovenian.

   #10. Aleksandar Rac couldn't help Nassjo in their game against LF Basket in the Swedish Basketligan. Rac recorded only 4 points in 14 minutes. His team was crushed by 40 points 98-58. Rac has averaged so far 3.5ppg and 1.3rpg in the four games.

Aljaz Slutej extends with SL Benfica for three years - 16 hours ago
Aljaz Slutej (188-G-96) has signed a new three-year contract with Portuguese side Sport Lisboa Benfica. Slutej averaged 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.2 steals over 31 minutes for B team in 29 Proliga (second tier) games last season. Slutej grew up with Elektra and has already played for Hopsi Polzela before joining SL Benfica in 2014. Tajfun Sentjur made their first addition for the upcoming season by signing Serbian Pavle Boljkovac (190-G-85) on a one-year deal. Helios Suns added added experience to its roster by signing former national team member Miha Zupan (205-F/C-82), who returns to Slovenia after eight years abroad. Zupan arrives from Afyonkarahisar Belediye, for whom he averaged 11.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.1 blocks in 31 TBL games last season.
