Power forward Igor Spesic (204-F/C-83) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Terme Olimia, receiving a Eurobasket.com 2SKL Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds, while his team outclassed Parklji (#7, 4-4) with 33-point margin 97-64. Terme Olimia maintains the 2nd position in Slovenian 2SKL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Terme Olimia will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. In the team's last game Spesic had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Terme Olimia's top player in his first season with the team. Igor Spesic has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 18.3ppg), rebounds (6th best: 7.8rpg) and averages impressive 64.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 39-year old former international center Ales Kunc (208-C-73) of Crnomelj. Kunc had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he lead Crnomelj to another comfortable win 81-66 over slightly lower-ranked Hrastnik (#11, 2-6) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Crnomelj keeps 10th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Kunc is a newcomer at Crnomelj, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Miha Markic (200-F-88, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) of Koper (#8). Markic showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, ten rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Koper, leading his team to a 69-66 win against Lastovka (4-5). The chances of Koper ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Markic could help Koper to bring them higher in the standings. Markic has a great season in Slovenia. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.4ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 10.4rpg (#1 in league). He also has 2.9spg and FGP: 60.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Andrej Macek (183-G-83) of Terme Olimia - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists
5. Niko Senekovic (88) of Branik - 26 points and 5 rebounds
6. Leon Santelj (95) of Koper - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Jure Erzen (203-C-75) of Sencur CP - 16 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Milan Klepo (211-C-80) of Lastovka - 14 points and 11 rebounds
9. Davorin Skornik (211-C-81) of Radenska - 18 points and 10 rebounds
10. Crt Ristic (182-G-89) of Triglav Strazisce - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
