We bring you last week's top performances from Slovenians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Nika Baric (169-92, currently plays in Russia). She contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Dynamo-GUVD (2-4) crushing them 84-45 in the Russian PBL in Monday night's game. Baric scored 8 points and added 3 passes in 23 minutes on the court. Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region (4-2) is placed fifth in the PBL. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Baric averages: 8.4ppg, 1.2rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 55.6%(15-27), 3FGP: 37.5% and FT: 75.0% in the five games she played so far. She is currently a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

Martina Dover

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Martina Dover (177-86, currently plays in Croatia). Dover led Gospic to an easy victory against the league outsider ZKK Agram (0-8) crushing them 100-45 in the Croatian A1 last Saturday. She scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). Gospic Croatia Osiguranje (7-1) is placed third in the A1. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Dover has relatively good stats this season: 13.5ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.5apg, 2.6spg, 2FGP: 67.4%(31-46), 3FGP: 45.5%(10-22) and FT: 84.2%. She is in the roster of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Katarina Ristic (174-84, currently plays in Turkey). Ristic contributed to Botas' victory against the 12th-ranked Edremit (1-6) 74-61 in the Turkish TKBL on Sunday night. She scored 6 points and added 3 passes in 21 minutes. Botasspor Adana (5-2) is placed third in the TKBL. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Ristic's first year with the team. This season Ristic averages only 2.9ppg, 3FGP: 14.3% in the seven games. She played for the Slovenian national team one years ago.

   #4. Center Tina Trebec (189-90, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic ZBL could not help Basket Slovanka MB (4-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Trebec's good performance Basket Slovanka MB was defeated 76-69 on the road by the lower-ranked Aldast Strakonice (#10). She was the top scorer with 14 points. Trebec also added 4 rebounds. This season Trebec has relatively solid stats: 14.1ppg and 2.6rpg. She is also Slovenian national team player.

   #5. International center Sandra Pirsic (197-84, currently plays in France) contributed to a Villeneuve D'Ascq's victory against the league outsider Union Hainaut (1-10) 72-68 in the French LFB last Sunday. Pirsic recorded 9 points in 18 minutes. Villeneuve D'Ascq ESB Lille Metropole (3-8) is placed 12th in the LFB. It's Pirsic's first season with the team. This year her overall stats are: 4.9ppg and 3.0rpg in the seven games. Pirsic plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

   #6. Power forward Ana Ljubenovic (182-88, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help Muggia (5-5) in their game against Udine (5-5) in the Italian A2 (12th division). She recorded 7 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. The ninth-placed Muggia was badly defeated 66-48 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Udine (#6) in the North group. Ljubenovic has reliable stats this season: 12.1ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.7spg. She is international player as she played for the Slovenian senior team one years ago.

We bring you last week's top performances from Slovenians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88). She could not help San Salvatore (4-4) in their last game. Despite Ljubenovic's very good performance the ninth-placed San Salvatore (4-4) lost in an overtime 72-76 at home to the second-ranked Empoli in the Group A.    [read more]

Athlete Celje easily defeated Domzale 91-37 in the lone game of that weekend. Shante Evans (184-F/C-91, college: Hofstra, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 24 points, Larisa Ocvirk(184-SF-97) 15, Iva Slonjsak (183-SG-97) 14, Andrea Maric (195-C-97) 11 and Annamaria Prezelj (177-SG-97) 10.
