We bring you last week's top performances from Slovenians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Lea Jagodic (182-91, currently plays in Italy). She led San Martino to a victory over the eighth-ranked Broni (5-7) crushing them 69-44 in the Italian A2 (12th division) in Saturday night's game. Jagodic was MVP of the game. She had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 10 rebounds. Jagodic also added 4 assists in 23 minutes on the court. Fila San Martino Di Lupari (11-1) is placed first in North group. It's Jagodic's first season with the team. Jagodic is currently seventh on the list of top scorers with 16.4ppg. She also averaged so far 6.7rpg, 1.7apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 54.4%, 3FGP: 46.2%(6-13) and FT: 72.3% in the 10 games she played so far. Jagodic is currently a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

Katarina Ristic

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Katarina Ristic (174-84, currently plays in Turkey). She contributed to a 3-point Botas' victory against the ninth-ranked Istanbul Universitesi (4-5) 62-59 in the Turkish TKBL last Sunday. Ristic scored 11 points. Botasspor Adana (6-2) is placed third in the TKBL. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Ristic averages: 3.7ppg, 2FGP: 47.6%. She played for the Slovenian national team in 2011.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Sandra Pirsic (197-84, currently plays in France), who plays in the French LFB. Pirsic could not help Villeneuve D'Ascq (3-10) to beat Tarbes (6-7). She scored 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 22 minutes. But Villeneuve D'Ascq lost 72-86 on the road to the higher-ranked (#9) Tarbes. This year Pirsic's overall stats are: 5.7ppg, 3.6rpg, 2FGP: 73.1%(19-26) and FT: 81.3% in the nine games. She is also a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #4. Center Tina Trebec (189-90, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic ZBL was not able to help Basket Slovanka MB (5-10) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Trebec's good performance Basket Slovanka MB was crushed 82-51 in Praha by the lower-ranked USK Praha (#10). She was the second best scorer with 10 points. Trebec also added 6 rebounds. Trebec has relatively good stats this season: 13.1ppg and 3.0rpg. She is also Slovenian national team player.

Martina Dover

   #5. International guard Martina Dover (177-86, currently plays in Croatia) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Jolly (8-2) crushing them 63-40 in the Croatian A1 last Tuesday. Dover scored 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 19 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Gospic Croatia Osiguranje (9-1) is placed second in the A1. It was her team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. This year Dover has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.6apg and 2.4spg in the nine games. She plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

   #6. Power forward Ana Ljubenovic (182-88, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian A2 (12th division) was not able to secure a victory for Muggia (5-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Ljubenovic's good performance the ninth-placed Muggia was badly defeated 63-45 in Cagliari by the lower-ranked Virtus (#12) in the North group. She was the second best scorer with 12 points. Ljubenovic also added 8 rebounds. Ljubenovic has reliable stats this season: 12.1ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.6spg. She is international player as she played for the Slovenian senior team one years ago.

Nika Baric

   #7. International point guard Nika Baric (169-92, currently plays in Euroleague) managed to help Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region in a victory against the seventh-ranked Tarsus Bld (1-6) 83-79 in the Euroleague in Wednesday night's game. Baric scored only 4 points and added 4 passes in 13 minutes. Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region (6-1) is placed first in group A. This year Baric's total stats are: 4.4ppg and 2.6apg in the seven games. She is also Slovenian national team player.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Slovenian passport:

   #1. Branka Vukicevic (173-G-82, currently plays in Croatia), who plays in the Croatian A1 could not help the league outsider ZKK Agram (0-10) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Vukicevic's good performance the bottom-ranked ZKK Agram was crushed 94-48 in a derby game by the much higher-ranked ZKK Medvescak (#4). She was the second best scorer with 14 points (made all of her five free throws). Vukicevic's stats this season are: 14.8ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.2apg.

Slovenia defeated Hungary by 77-64 in their first warm-up game ahead of the 2017 European Championship in Czech. Shante Evans (184-F/C-91, college: Hofstra) came off the bench for a game high 17 points, Nika Baric(169-PG-92) added 12, Teja Oblak (172-PG-90) and Sandra Pirsic (196-C-84) both scored 11 points and Eva Lisec (192-C-95) 10. Hungary - Slovenia 64-77 Slovenia beat Hungary in Szekesfehervar in the first friendly game between the sides. The guests won the first period 18-13 and added a 25-17 rally in the second frame. Hungary replied with a 28-18 surge in the third period but fell in the last 6-16.
