Union Olimpija - Buducnost 95:92 (3OT)

Union Olimpija endured triple-overtime thriller to tame Buducnost in Ljubljana tonight. The victory propelled the Slovenian team at 7-6 record and they caught up with their opponents from Podgorica in the ladder. Jaka Blazic (196-G-90) delivered 19 points to lead the winners.
Buducnost enjoyed a 20:16 lead ten minutes into the game. But Union Olimpija adjusted defensively and surged ahead for a narrow 32:30 halftime advantage. Buducnost managed to trim the distance to a single point at the third break 43:42. The teams finished the regulation tied at 60. The second overtime ended wit the teams tied at 70 after two free throws from Blazic. It all came down to the final seconds in the second overtime. The teams were tied at 77 when Cedomir Vitkovac (201-F-82, agency: Beo Basket) drained a three-pointer to give the visitors an 80:77 advantage. Omic put the hosts within one but Cedomir Vitkovac sank two free throws as Buducnost seemed to be on the way to the victory. However Teemu Rannikko (189-PG-80) dropped the first free throw and then grabbed an offensive rebound after the second missed one to convert a layup for 82:82 tie game.
