Guard Dejan Mlakar (192-G-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) had a very impressive game in the last round for Geoplin Slovan, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (21 points, four rebounds and eight assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Polzela (#13, 0-10) with 18-point margin 80-62. Geoplin Slovan maintains the 8th position in Slovenian Telemach League. Geoplin Slovan is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-6 record. Mlakar turned to be Geoplin Slovan's top player in his first season with the team. Dejan Mlakar has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (9th best: 3.6apg) and averages impressive 2.1spg and 63.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old Bosnia and Herzegovina Emir Zimic (215-C-86) of Tajfun. Zimic had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Tajfun cruised to a 110-103 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Grosuplje (#9, 2-8). This victory allowed Tajfun to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Zimic is a newcomer at Tajfun and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was Serbian forward Nemanja Miljkovic (205-F-90) of Grosuplje (#9). Miljkovic showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. Despite Miljkovic's great performance Grosuplje lost 103-110 to the higher-ranked Tajfun (#6, 5-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Grosuplje can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Miljkovic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Miljkovic has individually a great season in Slovenia. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 4.4rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.1bpg and FGP: 73.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mensud Julevic (200-PF-85) of Elektra - 18 points and 11 rebounds
5. Esmir Rizvic (213-C-82) of Maribor Messer - 20 points and 10 rebounds
6. Jure Mocnik (185-G-85) of Helios - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Tadej Ferme (187-G-91) of Tajfun - 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Luka Lapornik (195-G-88) of Zlatorog - 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Zeljko Zagorac (204-F-81) of Geoplin Slovan - 25 points and 6 rebounds
10. Boris Jersin (183-G-85) of Grosuplje - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
