Union Olimpija Ljubljana will participate in ULEB's EuroCup during the next 2013/2014 season. The club management has received an official EuroCup wildcard from the ULEB earlier today.
Matevz Zupancic , Acting General Manager of Union Olimpija: "We are very satisfied that ULEB has granted our wish to be accepted to the EuroCup via wildcard. EuroCup will be a very interesting competition in the upcoming season, due to the changes that ULEB has made. The new system will give us a chance to play even more international games, which is great for us and for our supporters. Euroleague clubs that will not make it to the Euroleague TOP16, will join the EuroCup in the final stages. I believe the quality of basketball in EuroCup will become even better due to these changes. This invite is a praise and approval for us, but also a commitment to continue successful financial recovery and not to get ahead of our reality. We need to stay grounded in the next season and give it our best, especially in Adriatic League, which is also very important because you qualify to the European competitions from it."
