Here is the weekly review of the top performing Slovenian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Lea Jagodic (182-91, currently plays in Italy). She led San Martino to a victory over the 13th-ranked Virtus Cagliari (2-12) crushing them 65-39 in the Italian A2 (12th division) in Saturday night's game. Jagodic was MVP of the game. She had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds in 28 minutes on the court. Fila San Martino Di Lupari (12-2) is placed second in North group. It's Jagodic's first season with the team. Jagodic belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #7 with 16.4ppg. She also averaged so far 7.3rpg, 1.6apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 52.7%, 3FGP: 43.8% and FT: 66.7% in the 12 games she played so far. Jagodic is currently a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Nika Baric (169-92, currently plays in Russia). She managed to help Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region to win against the closely-ranked Energy Ivanovo (2-8) crushing them 84-53 in the Russian PBL last Sunday. Baric recorded 5 points and added 5 passes. Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region (7-3) is placed fifth in the PBL. This season Baric averages: 6.6ppg, 1.1rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 54.8%, 3FGP: 38.5%. She is in the roster of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Tina Trebec (189-90, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic ZBL. Trebec could not help Basket Slovanka MB (5-12) in their last game. Despite her very good performance Basket Slovanka MB lost 69-84 on the road to the second-ranked IMOS Brno. Trebec was the top scorer with 18 points. She also added 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. It was Basket Slovanka MB's third consecutive loss in a row. Trebec has relatively good stats this year: 13.4ppg, 3.8rpg, 2FGP: 44.9% and FT: 89.3% in the 11 games. She is also a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

Ana Ljubenovic

   #4. Power forward Ana Ljubenovic (182-88, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help Muggia (5-9) in their game against Umana Reyer (13-1) in the Italian A2 (12th division). Ljubenovic scored 9 points. But the tenth-placed Muggia was badly defeated 72-56 at home by the leading Umana Reyer in the North group. It was Muggia's fifth consecutive loss in a row. This season Ljubenovic has relatively solid stats: 11.8ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.5spg. She used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2011.

At least three more teams will have new coach in the upcoming 2017-18 season. Ilirija have appointed youth team coach Alen Ploj as their first-team coach after Goran Jovanovic left the club. Jovanovic is not the only person leaving the club with director Emir Haskic also resigning. Ploj joined Ilirija last summer and led Cadett (U15) team to the 2017 WABA League title. CD Adareva (LF2) agreed terms with 23-year old Slovenian point guard Sara Meden (171-94). She has played for the last four seasons at Triglav in Slovenian SKL league. In 25 games she had 7.5ppg, 1.4rpg, 3.1apg and 1.3spg last season. Meden helped them to make it to both league and Cup finals after they ended regular season as second best team. UBI Graz hire coach Kuzma, ex Maribor - 3 days ago
UBI Graz (AWBL) hired Slovenian coach Andrej Kuzma. He has coached for the last five seasons at AJM Maribor in Slovenian SKL league. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Coach Assistant: Slovenian League All-Star Game. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Kuzma's team made it to the SKL Semifinals for two years in a row (2015 and 2016).
