We bring you last week's top performances from Slovenians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced former international power forward Bostjan Nachbar (207-80, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Germany. He could not help Brose Baskets Bamberg (0-3) in their last game. Despite Nachbar's very good performance the seventh-placed Brose Baskets Bamberg lost 83-90 on the road to the second-ranked CSKA Moscow in the group E of Euroleague. He was the top scorer with 35 points. Nachbar also added 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 33 minutes on the court. So far Brose Baskets Bamberg lost all three games in the Top 16. Nachbar is ranked second on the list of the top scorers in the league with 17.8ppg. He also averaged so far 4.5rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 45.6%, 3FGP: 44.6% and FT: 82.8% in the 13 games he played so far. Nachbar played for the Slovenian senior national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international shooting guard Sasha Vujacic (201-84, currently plays in Turkey). He was the major contributor in an Anadolu Efes' victory against the closely-ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (12-2) 94-76 in a derby game in the Turkish TBL last Monday. Vujacic scored 18 points. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Anadolu Efes Istanbul (12-2) is placed first in the TBL. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Vujacic is ranked second on the list of the most steals in the league. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.4ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.3apg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 58.3%(42-72), 3FGP: 43.9% and FT: 83.7%. Vujacic played for the Slovenian national team in 2009.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international small forward Emir Preldzic (205-87, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Turkey. He was not able to help Fenerbahce Ulker (0-3) in their last game. Despite Preldzic's very good performance Fenerbahce Ulker (#7) lost 92-98 in Siena to the second-ranked Montepaschi in the group F of Euroleague. He scored 15 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 34 minutes. So far Fenerbahce Ulker lost all three games in the Top 16. It's Preldzic's sixth season with the team. This year Preldzic averages: 9.2ppg, 2.5rpg, 3.0apg, 2FGP: 57.9%(33-57) and FT: 73.5% in the 13 games. He has a dual citizenship: Slovenian and Turkish. Former Triglav Kranj starter played for the Slovenian national team five years ago.

   #4. Point guard Goran Dragic (190-86, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to secure a victory for the Phoenix Suns (12-26) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Dragic's very good performance the Phoenix Suns were defeated 108-99 in Milwaukee by the Bucks. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Dragic also added 4 assists. Dragic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 14.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 6.2apg and 1.6spg. Dragic used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2011.

   #5. Former international forward Marko Milic (201-77, currently plays in Iran) led Mahram to a 3-point victory over the closely-ranked Foolad Mahan (9-3) 78-75 in the Iranian Superleague last Monday. He was MVP of the game. Milic had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 13 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 39 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Mahram Tehran (10-2) is placed second in the Superleague. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Milic's first season with the team. Milic is currently fifth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has very impressive stats this year: 18.3ppg, 9.7rpg and 2.7apg in the three games. Milic used to play for the Slovenian national team seven years ago.

   #6. Point guard Beno Udrih (194-82, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA couldn't help the Milwaukee Bucks (18-17) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the Milwaukee Bucks were badly defeated 103-87 in Detroit by the Pistons. Udrih was the top scorer with 15 points. He also added 3 passes. Udrih has relatively good stats this season: 8.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.2apg. He is a former international player as he played for the Slovenian senior team three years ago.

   #7. Former international point guard Aleksandar Capin (186-82, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Adriatic League), who plays in Serbia couldn't help Radnicki KG (8-8) in their last game. Despite Capin's very good performance Radnicki KG was edged 88-85 in Aleksandrovac by the leading Igokea. He was the top scorer with 29 points. Capin also added 5 rebounds and 6 assists in 40 minutes. Capin belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #5) and also on the list of best passers (second place). This year he has very good stats: 14.9ppg, 2.2rpg, 4.7apg and 1.4spg in the 13 games. Capin used to play for the Slovenian national team five years ago.

   #8. Power forward Erazem Lorbek (209-84, college: Michigan St., currently plays in Spain) led Regal FC Barcelona to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Lagun Aro GBC (3-14) crushing them 98-50 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday. He recorded 11 points. Regal FC Barcelona (9-7) is placed eighth in the ACB. Lorbek is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Regal FC Barcelona's roster. Lorbek's overall stats this season are: 9.7ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.1apg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2011.

   #9. Former international power forward Primoz Brezec (216-79, currently plays in VTB United League) led his Russian team BC Nizhny Novgorod to a victory over the eighth-ranked CEZ Nymburk (4-6) 81-73 in the VTB United League on Sunday night. Brezec was the best player in that game. He recorded 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 31 minutes. BC Nizhny Novgorod (5-5) is placed fifth in group B. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. This year Brezec has relatively solid stats: 12.7ppg and 5.6rpg in the 10 games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team three years ago.

   #10. Small forward Nebojsa Joksimovic (193-81, currently plays in Adriatic League) faced previously mentioned Aleksandar Capin in the Adriatic League last game. Joksimovic contributed to a 3-point Igokea's victory against the eighth-ranked Radnicki KG (8-8) 88-85. He recorded 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Joksimovic's overall stats this season are: 7.1ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg. He is a former international player as four years ago he still played for the Slovenian senior national team.

   #11. Former international forward Zeljko Zagorac (204-81, currently plays in Hungary), who plays in the Hungarian A Division couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Falco-Szova (8-7) in their last game. Despite Zagorac's very good performance Falco-Szova was edged 95-94 at home by the higher-ranked (#5) PVSK Pannon. He had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 11 rebounds. Zagorac also added 3 assists in 37 minutes. It was his first game for Falco-Szova this season. Zagorac used to play for the Slovenian national team five years ago.

   #12. Former international swingman Zoran Dragic (196-89, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help Unicaja Malaga in their game against Zalgiris in the Euroleague. He scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was defeated 75-63. Dragic's overall stats this season are: 5.7ppg and 3.0rpg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2011.

   #13. Former U18 international guard Bojan Krivec (188-87, currently plays in Croatia), who plays in the Croatian A1 couldn't help Kvarner 2010 (8-2) in their last game. Despite Krivec's good performance the league leader Kvarner 2010 lost 73-80 in Sibenik to the lower-ranked (#3) Jolly. He recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in 34 minutes. Krivec is the league's best passer with 5.2apg. He also averaged so far 9.8ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.3spg in the 10 games. Krivec used to play for the Slovenian U18 national team eight years ago.

   #14. Former international forward Dragisa Drobnjak (200-77, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Belgium) contributed to a Base Oostende's victory against the league outsider Leuven Bears 84-73 in the Belgian Ethias League in Saturday night's game. Drobnjak scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Drobnjak has reliable stats this season: 10.8ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.8apg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2008.

   #15. Former international power forward Miha Zupan (205-82, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TBL couldn't help Turk Telekom (4-11) in their last game. Despite Zupan's very good performance Turk Telekom lost 70-76 on their home court in Ankara to the much higher-ranked (#5) Galatasaray. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Zupan also added 5 rebounds in 29 minutes. Zupan's stats this year are: 11.5ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.5apg in the 15 games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team two years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Slovenian passport but never been selected to any of Slovenian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Jure Balazic (204-F-80, currently plays in Turkey) was the major contributor in Erdemir's victory against the closely-ranked Tofas (6-9) 93-89 in the Turkish TBL last Saturday. He scored 20 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Erdemirspor Eregli (6-9) is placed ninth in the TBL. Balazic has reliable stats this season: 11.1ppg and 5.4rpg.

   #2. Rasid Mahalbasic (211-C-90, currently plays in Poland), who plays in the Polish TBL could not help Asseco Prokom Gdynia (10-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance Asseco Prokom Gdynia lost 74-83 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Stelmet ZG. Mahalbasic scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 26 minutes. This year Mahalbasic's overall stats are: 9.0ppg and 5.3rpg in the 16 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Austrian and Slovenian.

   #3. Vlado Ilievski (190-PG-80, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Adriatic League) was not able to help Cedevita (9-7) in their game against KK Split (7-10) in the Adriatic League. Ilievski recorded only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Cedevita was edged 75-72 at home by the lower-ranked KK Split (#10). Ilievski's overall stats this season are: 4.4ppg, 1.1rpg and 1.6apg. He is another player who holds two passports: FYR Macedonian and Slovenian.

   #4. Nejc Strnad (190-PG-83, currently plays in Greece) was not able to secure a victory for Ikaros (6-6) in their game against Ilysiakos (3-9) in the Greek A1. Despite his good performance last Saturday Strnad scored 11 points. This season Strnad averages only 3.5ppg.

   #5. Uros Benacek (206-C-92, currently plays in Czech Republic) couldn't help BC Kolin (12-9) in their game against BK Pardubice (14-6) in the Czech Republic NBL. Despite his good performance in Saturday night's game He recorded 11 points. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Benacek's overall stats this season are: 4.2ppg and 1.8rpg.

   #6. Damir Zeleznik (185-G-80, currently plays in Austria) led Xion Dukes to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams St.Polten crushing them 88-65 in the Austrian A Bundesliga on Saturday night. He recorded 13 points and added 3 passes. Zeleznik's overall stats this season are: 6.4ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.8apg. He has both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities.

   #7. Marko Milicevic (204-F-82, currently plays in Greece) led Ikaroi Serron to a victory against the closely-ranked Pagrati 75-70 in the Greek A2 (second division) on Saturday night. Milicevic scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 22 minutes. This year Milicevic's overall stats are: 8.8ppg and 4.2rpg in the 12 games. He also holds two passports: Serbian and Slovenian.

   #8. Rene Zvan (182-PG-87, currently plays in Slovakia) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Nitra in their game against Komarno in the Slovakian Extraliga. Zvan cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 3 points. His team was defeated 76-67. Zvan's overall stats this season are: 4.0ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.4apg.

Union Olimpija outscored Rogaska 52-37 in the second half of the Finals Game 4 for a 94-78 victory to win their first Slovenian League championship title since the 2008-09 season and 16th overall.
