Konjice made history in the Round 13 of Slovenian Championship after defeating AJM 67-50 at Maribor..

AJM-Konjice 50-67: Konjice made a 9-1 run to take a lead 31-25 late in the second quarter and never looked back for the rest of the game. AJM tied at 32 and Konjice answered with 7 straight points. They went on a 18-3 run spanning the third and fourth quarter to go ahead 65-45, the largest lead of the game. Katja Klancnik (175-F-90) scored 18 points, Ziva Bozicevic added 11 and Marusa Furman grabbed 13 rebounds.AJM's lone player in double figures was Tjasa Unverdorben with 16 points.

Triglav-Subrina Ilirija 70-57: Triglav never trailed and scored a dozen straight points to go ahead 27-10 late in the first quarter. Ilirija made three consecutive 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 25-27 and were down 31-35. Triglav went on a 11-2 run spanning halftime to pull way from Ilirija, 55-36, its largest lead of the game. Ziva Zdolsek (178-G-89) finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds, Tina Jakovina (182-F-92) had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Bojana Duric (174-G-91) scored 11 points and handed out 9 assists. Ilirija took 25 free throws to Triglav's only 7, but they shot just 31-percent (16-of-52) from field. Matea Tavic (178-G-92, agency: Regeneracom Sports), Sara Meden (170-PG-94) and Teja Kropivsek (175-G-89) all scored 12 points.
Domzale-Jezica 65-58: Domzale trailed just one possession and made a 9-1 run to go ahead 14-6. Jezica cut the deficit to 23-26, but the home team responded with another 9-1 run. Domzale lead 57-46 in the final quarter. Ursa Cuk knocked down a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to one, 58-59, with 1:30 into the game. Domzale's Nina Ivanc made a crucial jump shot with 15 seconds left and Helena Boada (174-G-87, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added free throws to put the game away. Helena Boada posted 16 points, Annamaria Prezelj 13, Barbara Poljansek 12 and Romana Vukovic collected 11 points and 13 rebounds. Jezica outrebounded Domzale 48-41, picking up 19 offensive boards, but they shot miserable 30-percent from the field (20-of-67) and missed 9 free throws. Eva Rupnik (177-F-92) scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Neza Belak added 11 points.

We bring you last week's top performances from Slovenians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88). She could not help San Salvatore (4-4) in their last game. Despite Ljubenovic's very good performance the ninth-placed San Salvatore (4-4) lost in an overtime 72-76 at home to the second-ranked Empoli in the Group A.    [read more]

Athlete Celje easily defeated Domzale 91-37 in the lone game of that weekend. Shante Evans (184-F/C-91, college: Hofstra, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 24 points, Larisa Ocvirk(184-SF-97) 15, Iva Slonjsak (183-SG-97) 14, Andrea Maric (195-C-97) 11 and Annamaria Prezelj (177-SG-97) 10. Eva Lisec's double-double lands her Player of the Week award among Slovenians playing currently abroad: - 12 days ago

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Slovenian players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international center Eva Lisec (192-95). She could not help one of league's weakest teams Atomeromu (5-2) in their last game. Despite Lisec's very good performance Atomeromu was edged 58-56 at home by the second-ranked UNI Gyor.    [read more]
