Cedevita overcame Union Olimpija in Zagreb tonight. Vlado Ilievski (190-PG-80, agency: Beo Basket) notched 13 points and 8 assists to pace the Croatian side to the 10th win in the season. Union Olimpija looked the better side in the first term. They held the hosts to 13 points in the period and posted a 16:13 lead. Cedevita made their way in front in the second term. The hosts adjusted offensively and pulled ahead for a 32:29 halftime advantage. Cedevita stretched the lead in the third period. The Croatian team piled up a 5-point lead before the fourth term. The margin grew at 13-point mark midway through the fourth term and Cedevita hung on for the victory at the end. Marko Tomas (201-G-85), Marino Bazdaric (195-G/F-78) and Goran Suton (208-C-85, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 12 points apiece in the victory. Dino Muric (200-F-90) and Klemen Prepelic (191-G-92) answered with 14 points each for Union Olimpija.

The hosts held Slovenia to 14 points in the quarter and cut the deficit at 5-point mark. Croatia exploded with 29 points in the fourth period but Slovenia withstood the challenge scoring 28 points and escaping with a narrow win at the end. Luka Rupnik (185-PG-93) finished with 17 points, while Ziga Dimec (208-C/F-93) had 13 points and 6 boards in the win.
Helios Domzale has begun building its roster for next season with the signing of Croatian Igor Maric (196-F-85) on an one-year contract. Maric arrives from Maribor Messer, for whom he averaged 13.1 points (2P 56%, 3P 37%, FT 84%), 5.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals over 31 minutes in 28 games last season.
