   #1. This week's number one is former international shooting guard Sasha Vujacic (201-84, currently plays in Euroleague). He led his Turkish team Anadolu Efes to a victory over the seventh-ranked Brose Baskets Bamberg (0-4) 94-76 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Vujacic was MVP of the game. He recorded 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 29 minutes on the court. Anadolu Efes Istanbul (3-1) is placed third in group E. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Vujacic has relatively good stats this year: 12.1ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.4apg, 1.1spg, 3FGP: 44.8% and FT: 76.5% in the 14 games he played so far. He played for the Slovenian senior national team four years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international point guard Beno Udrih (194-82, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Udrih could not help the Milwaukee Bucks (20-18) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his good performance the Milwaukee Bucks were badly defeated 104-88 on the road by the Los Angeles Lakers. Udrih was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 7 passes. This season Udrih has relatively solid stats: 7.8ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.7apg, 2FGP: 56.6%(73-129), 3FGP: 27.6% and FT: 70.8%. He played for the Slovenian national team in 2010.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international small forward Emir Preldzic (205-87, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague). Preldzic was not able to help Fenerbahce Ulker (0-4) in their game against Caja Laboral (4-0) in the Euroleague, despite his very good performance on Friday night. He was the top scorer with 16 points. Preldzic also added 3 passes in 28 minutes. But the seventh-placed Fenerbahce Ulker was crushed 97-75 in Vitoria by the leading Caja Laboral in the group F of Euroleague. So far Fenerbahce Ulker lost all four games in the Top 16. It's Preldzic's sixth season with the team. This year he averages: 9.7ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.0apg, 2FGP: 60.7%(37-61), 3FGP: 34.8% and FT: 71.7% in the 14 games. Preldzic has a dual citizenship: Slovenian and Turkish. Former Triglav Kranj starter played for the Slovenian national team five years ago.

   #4. Point guard Aleksandar Capin (186-82, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Adriatic League) was the main contributor in a Radnicki KG's victory against the closely-ranked MZT Skopje (10-8) 89-83 in the Adriatic League in Monday night's game. He was the best player in that game. Capin scored 26 points (!!!) and added 9 assists. Radnicki Kragujevac (10-8) is placed sixth in the Adriatic League. Capin is currently first on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best passers (first place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Capin averages: 16.1ppg, 2.4rpg, 5.3apg and 1.3spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Slovenian and Serbian. Capin used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2008.

   #5. An experienced former international power forward Bostjan Nachbar (207-80, currently plays in Euroleague) faced previously mentioned Sasha Vujacic in the Euroleague last game. Nachbar was not able to secure a victory for Brose Baskets Bamberg (0-4) in their game against Anadolu Efes (3-1), despite his very good performance last Thursday. He was the top scorer with 19 points in 31 minutes. But Brose Baskets Bamberg (#7) was badly defeated 94-76 in Istanbul by the higher-ranked (#3) Anadolu Efes in the group E of Euroleague. So far Brose Baskets Bamberg lost all four games in the Top 16. It's Nachbar's first season with the team. Nachbar is currently second on the list of top scorers with 17.9ppg. This year he also averages: 4.2rpg and 1.5apg in the 14 games. Nachbar used to play for the Slovenian national team three years ago.

   #6. Power forward Gasper Vidmar (211-87, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help Besiktas (0-4) in their game against Regal FC Barcelona (3-1) in the Euroleague. Despite his very good performance on Thursday night He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Vidmar also added 2 shots. Vidmar is currently fifth on the league's list of best blockers. His overall stats this season are: 7.7ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.3bpg. Vidmar is a former international player as he played for the Slovenian senior team three years ago.

   #7. Former international point guard Goran Dragic (190-86, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Phoenix Suns (13-28) in their game against the Brooklyn Nets (24-16) in the NBA. Despite his good performance last Friday Dragic scored 12 points and added 3 passes. This season Dragic has very high stats. He averages: 14.0ppg, 2.8rpg, 6.1apg and 1.5spg. Dragic used to play for the Slovenian national team two years ago.

Power forward Erazem Lorbek (209-84, college: Michigan St., currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Regal FC Barcelona (9-8) in their game against Asefa Estudiantes (9-8) in the Spanish ACB, despite his good performance on Sunday night. He was the second best scorer with 10 points. Lorbek also added 4 rebounds in 19 minutes. But Regal FC Barcelona was crushed 88-66 in Madrid by the higher-ranked (#7) Asefa Estudiantes. Lorbek is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Regal FC Barcelona's roster. This season his overall stats are: 9.7ppg and 3.3rpg in the 17 games. Lorbek used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2011.

   #9. Former international center Mirza Begic (217-85, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Real Madrid to win against the fifth-ranked G.Canaria 2014 (12-6) crushing them 90-54 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. He scored only 2 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Real Madrid (16-1) is placed first in the ACB. Begic's total stats this season are: 5.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.1bpg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team two years ago.

   #10. Guard Bojan Krivec (188-87, currently plays in Croatia) couldn't help Kvarner 2010 (9-2) in their game against Jolly (10-2) in the Croatian A1. Despite his good performance on Saturday night He recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Krivec is currently first on the league's list of best passers. His total stats this season are: 9.1ppg, 2.2rpg, 5.4apg and 1.3spg. Krivec is a former U18 international player as eight years ago he still played for the Slovenian national team.

   #11. Former international power forward Primoz Brezec (216-79, currently plays in VTB United League) contributed to a 1-point BC Nizhny Novgorod's victory against the tenth-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk 55-54 in the VTB United League in Sunday night's game. He was the top player that evening. Brezec scored 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 33 minutes. He has reliable stats this year: 13.0ppg and 5.5rpg in the 11 games. Brezec used to play for the Slovenian national team three years ago.

   #12. Former international power forward Miha Zupan (205-82, currently plays in Turkey) couldn't help Turk Telekom in their game against Galatasaray in the Turkish TBL, despite his very good performance on Saturday night. Zupan was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 5 rebounds in 29 minutes. But his team lost 70-76. Zupan's stats this year are: 11.5ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.5apg in the 15 games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2011.

   #13. Former U21 international point guard Matej Venta (188-84, currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to a BK Lions Hradec's victory against one of league's weakest teams B&W Opava 92-83 in the Czech Republic NBL in Saturday night's game. Venta was the top player that evening. He recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 11 rebounds. Venta also added 4 assists. It was his first game for BK Lions Hradec this season. Venta used to play for the Slovenian U21 national team eight years ago.

   #14. Former international forward Marko Milic (201-77, currently plays in Iran) helped Mahram win their game against the eighth-ranked Al Badr crushing them 100-66 in the Iranian Superleague last Monday. He scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in only 14 minutes. Milic belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #3) and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has very impressive stats this year: 16.0ppg, 8.8rpg and 2.3apg in the four games. Milic used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2006.

   #15. Former U20 international guard Maj Kovacevic (190-90, currently plays in Slovakia) helped Nitra win their game against the closely-ranked Prievidza 98-85 in the Slovakian Extraliga on Saturday night. He was the top player that evening. Kovacevic scored 23 points. Kovacevic is currently ninth on the league's list of top scorers. He has very reliable stats this season: 15.0ppg and 1.4rpg. Kovacevic used to play for the Slovenian U20 national team three years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Slovenian passport but never been selected to any of Slovenian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Vlado Ilievski (190-PG-80, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Adriatic League) led his Croatian team Cedevita to a victory over the eighth-ranked Un.Olimpija (9-9) 73-67 in the Adriatic League in Saturday night's game. He was the top player that evening. Ilievski scored 13 points and added 8 passes in 36 minutes. KK Cedevita Zagreb (10-8) is placed fourth in the Adriatic League. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. This year Ilievski's overall stats are: 4.9ppg, 1.1rpg and 2.0apg in the 18 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: FYR Macedonian and Slovenian.

   #2. Jure Balazic (204-F-80, currently plays in Turkey) was the major contributor in Erdemir's victory against the closely-ranked Tofas (6-9) 93-89 in the Turkish TBL last Saturday. Balazic scored 20 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 38 minutes. Erdemirspor Eregli (6-9) is placed eighth in the TBL. Balazic has reliable stats this year: 11.7ppg and 5.3rpg in the 15 games.

   #3. Rasid Mahalbasic (211-C-90, currently plays in Poland) contributed to a 1-point Asseco Prokom Gdynia's victory against the league outsider Rosa Radom (3-14) 76-75 in the Polish TBL last Saturday. He scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Asseco Prokom Gdynia (11-6) is placed fourth in the TBL. Mahalbasic's total stats this season are: 9.0ppg and 5.2rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Austrian and Slovenian.

   #4. Damir Zeleznik (185-G-80, currently plays in Austria) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Gussing Knights (9-8) 93-77 in the Austrian A Bundesliga in Sunday night's game. He scored 14 points, grabbed 5 boards, passed 7 assists and added 4 steals in 33 minutes. Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg (12-5) is placed fourth in the A Bundesliga. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Zeleznik's total stats are: 7.2ppg, 2.7rpg and 3.3apg in the 15 games. He has both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities.

   #5. Uros Benacek (206-C-92, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic NBL could not help BC Kolin (12-10) in their last game. Despite Benacek's good performance BC Kolin was badly defeated 94-75 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) BK Pardubice. He recorded 11 points in 28 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Benacek's total stats are: 4.2ppg and 1.9rpg in the 18 games.

   #6. Marko Milicevic (204-F-82, currently plays in Greece) contributed to an Ikaroi Serron's victory against the eighth-ranked Pagrati 75-70 in the Greek A2 (second division) last Saturday. He scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Milicevic's total stats this season are: 8.6ppg and 4.1rpg. He also holds two passports: Serbian and Slovenian.

   #7. Nejc Strnad (190-PG-83, currently plays in Greece) managed to help Ikaros Kallitheas to win against the league outsider Panelefsiniakos 85-78 in the Greek A1 on Saturday night. Strnad scored only 3 points. This season Strnad averages just 3.2ppg.

   #8. Mladen Loncarevic (209-C/F-91, college: Weatherford JC, currently plays in Bosnia) contributed to a KK Radnik Bijeljina's victory against the closely-ranked Capljina Lasta 71-59 in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I on Saturday night. He recorded only 2 points and added 4 assists in 13 minutes. This year Loncarevic's total stats are: 4.7ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.2apg in the 10 games. He has Slovenian and Bosnia and Herzegovina nationalities.

   #9. Rene Zvan (182-PG-87, currently plays in Slovakia) helped Nitra edge the closely-ranked Nova Ves 96-94 in the Slovakian Extraliga on Saturday night. Zvan scored only 2 points. Zvan's total stats this season are: 3.8ppg, 1.2rpg and 2.3apg.

Union Olimpija outscored Rogaska 52-37 in the second half of the Finals Game 4 for a 94-78 victory to win their first Slovenian League championship title since the 2008-09 season and 16th overall.
