Igor Spesic
29-year old power forward Igor Spesic (204-F/C-83) had a very impressive game in the last round for Terme Olimia and receives a Eurobasket.com 2SKL Player of the Week award for round 15.
He had a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out Litija (#12, 3-11) 63-61. Terme Olimia is placed at 3rd position in Slovenian 2SKL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Terme Olimia will need more victories to improve their 9-5 record. Spesic turned to be Terme Olimia's top player in his first season with the team. Spesic has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.7ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 9.5rpg) and averages solid 63.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Klemen Balazic (194-F-89) of Lastovka. He is a forward in his first season at Lastovka. In the last game Balazic recorded impressive 23 points and 8 rebounds. Of course he lead Lastovka to another comfortable win outscoring Branik (#13, 0-14) 102-62. Lastovka's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Balazic is a newcomer at Lastovka and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.8ppg (#8). He also registered 6.4 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Tomaz Podboj (204-G-86) of Postojna (#8). Podboj showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, ten rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Podboj's great performance Postojna lost 60-61 to Hrastnik (6-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Postojna ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Podboj could help Postojna to bring them higher in the standings. Podboj has a great season in Slovenia. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.8ppg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dalibor Cevriz (196-F-87) of Triglav Strazisce - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Sandi Skrbinsek (205-C-90) of Branik - 19 points and 5 rebounds
6. Grega Dezman (186-G-89) of Triglav Strazisce - 13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Dusan Dolinar (204-C-81) of Lastovka - 7 points and 10 rebounds
8. Matija Vravnik (198-F-92) of Triglav Strazisce - 13 points and 5 rebounds
9. Aleksander Vojicic (188-G-87) of Triglav Strazisce - 15 points and 4 rebounds
10. Anze Cerkovnik (200-F/C-86) of Crnomelj - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Helios Suns handed Zlatorog just their second home loss of the season, 64-62 in the opening game of the 2016 Slovenian League finals.
