Just a few minutes after an important win over league leading Zlatorog, 71-67, Rogaska Crystal has parted ways with Serbian coach Dragan Visnjevac .
Rogaska Crystal-Zlatorog 71:67: Rogaska scored 10 straight points to take the largest lead of either team in the game, 65-56, with 4:02 remaining. Zlatorog cut the deficit to 67-68, but they missed five straight free throws in final 18 seconds. All five Rogaska's starters finished with double-figure scoring, while bench players combined for just 7 points. Milos Miljkovic (204-F/C-84) posted 17 points, Boban Tomic (190-G-88, agency: Alti Sport) had 15 points and 6 assists, Tadej Kostomaj (186-G-87) added 12 points and Tadej Horvat (196-G-87) and Semir Smajlovic (209-C-87) netted 10 points apiece. Zlatorog made just 12 of its 23 free throws. Luka Lapornik (195-G-88) finished with 16 points and Uros Zadnik (187-PG-90) added 10.
Maribor Messer-Tajfun Sentjur 57-67: Sentjur extended their winning streak to six games while second placed Maribor suffered its first back-to-back home loss of the season. After 10 lead changes, Sentjur's 7-0 run to close out early in the third quarter was momunental. Sentjur seized control by taking a lead 37-30. They took its first double-digit lead of the game at 52-42 midway through the final period and Sentjur's advantage never dipped under nine points the rest of the way. Milan Sebic (204-F-86) scored 13 points, Anze Pelc (190-G-90) 12 and Mladen Primorac (210-C-90) 10. Maribor was led by Jure Pelko (190-G-90) with game-high 16 points and Igor Maric (196-F-85) had 12 points and 9 rebounds.
Elektra-Helios 65-48: Elektra, who never trailed, win for the first time against Helios since March 2007. Ziga Zagorc (184-PG-84) scored 14 points, Andrej Podvrsnik (186-G-87) had 12 points and 9 rebounds, David Collins (213-C-85, college: Bradley) collected 10 points and 10 rebounds and Mensud Julevic (200-PF-85) added 10 points. Elektra opened the game with an 8-2 run and later scored 9 straight points to go ahead 28-12. Helios cut the deficit to 30-36 midway through the third quarter, but the home team answered with a 15-2 run, Helios shot just 17-54 from the field, including 3-22 from the 3-point range. Jure Mocnik (185-PG-85) scored 12 points and handed out 5 assists, Damir Rancic (199-G-83) had 10 points and 5 rebounds and Djordje Majstorovic (209-C/F-90) dished out 7 assists.
Hopsi-LTH Castings Mercator 73-64: Hopsi broke their five home game losing streak that stretched from October 2012. LTH made a 12-2 run to go up 28-21 and had their largest lead of the game at 42-31 early in the second half. Hopsi answered with nine straight points and, later, 8 in a row to take a lead 55-48. LTH cit the deficit to 53-55, but Hopsi went on a 12-2 run to take the control of the game. Goran Jagodnik (203-F-74, agency: Beo Basket) finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds, Hugh Robertson (198-G-89, college: S.Florida) scored 15 points, Marko Vranjkovic (204-F/C-90) 11, Isiah Martin (203-F/C-89, college: Indiana St.) 10 and Danijel Vujasinovic (180-G-89) collected 5 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists.LTH were outscored 24-42 in the second half including 8-22 in the third quarter. Robert Abramovic (185-G-88) scored 20 points, Vjeran Soldo (208-F/C-84) added 16 and Pavle Boljkovac (190-G-85, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) had 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Slovan-Grosuplje 87-71: The five advantage point would be the largest lead for either team in the first half. Over the next several minutes Slovan made a 12-2 run to go ahead 49-38 and extended their lead to 57-40. Milos Paravinja (212-C/F-79) and Stipe Modric (206-F-79) both scored 18 points, Dejan Mlakar (192-G-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) 13 and Jan Span (189-PG-92) 11. Grosuplje are still only winless team in the league on the road. Sasa Zagorac (205-F/C-84) had game-high 22 points, Ziga Erculj (177-G-86) scored 13 points and Igor Tratnik (206-C/F-89) 12.

Prepelic leaves EWE Baskets - May 28, 2016

24-year old Slovenian ex-international guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) left EWE Baskets Oldenburg (BBL). In 32 games he averaged 10.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 3.2apg this season. The last season Prepelic played at Union Olimpija Ljubljana (Telemach League) in Slovenia. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 12 Telemach League games he had 14.0ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.5apg. Zlatorog and Helios Suns will meet in the 2016 Slovenian League finals. Helios claimed the road win 77-74 over regular season champion Krka in decisive Game 3. Both semifinal series are tied 1-1 with the decisive Game 3 Thursday. Union Olimpija defeated Zlatorog 90-88 and Helios Suns beat Krka 73-68.
