Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Slovenians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international swingman Maja Erkic (183-85, currently plays in Spain). She contributed to an easy victory against the sixth-ranked Cadi ICG Software (6-7) 68-51 in the Spanish LFB in Saturday night's game. Erkic scored 6 points in 23 minutes on the court. Rivas Ecopolis (13-1) is placed first in the LFB. This year Erkic averages: 4.0ppg, 2FGP: 42.9% in the two games she played so far. She is currently a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Tina Trebec (189-90, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic ZBL. Trebec could not help Basket Slovanka MB (7-14) in their last game on Sunday. Despite her very good performance Basket Slovanka MB was badly defeated 86-69 on the road by the higher-ranked VSE Praha (#4). Trebec was the top scorer with 21 points. She also added 7 rebounds. Trebec's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Trebec has relatively good stats this season: 14.2ppg, 4.1rpg, 2FGP: 48.9% and FT: 87.5%. She is in the roster of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Ana Ljubenovic (182-88, currently plays in Italy). Ljubenovic led Muggia to a victory over the 14th-ranked Biassono (1-18) 58-52 in the Italian A2 (12th division) on Wednesday night. She was MVP of the game. Ljubenovic had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 18 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) in 34 minutes. Interclub Muggia (7-12) is placed tenth in North group. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Ljubenovic's first season with the team. This year she has relatively solid stats: 14.1ppg, 9.4rpg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 49.3%, 3FGP: 26.2% and FT: 73.0% in the 18 games. Ljubenovic played for the Slovenian national team two years ago.

Nika Baric

   #4. Point guard Nika Baric (169-92, currently plays in Russia) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Spartak Vidnoye (8-4) in their game against Nadezhda Orenburg (9-4) in the Russian PBL. Her contribution was not very remarkable in Sunday's game. Baric recorded only 2 points and added 5 assists. Spartak Vidnoye was edged 80-79 in Orenburg by the higher-ranked Nadezhda (#3). They ended the series of three consecutive victories. Baric's overall stats this season are: 5.5ppg and 2.3apg. She is also Slovenian national team player.

   #5. International guard Martina Dover (177-86, currently plays in Croatia) managed to help Gospic Croatia Osiguranje in a victory against the closely-ranked ZKK Medvescak (10-4) crushing them 81-57 in the Croatian A1 last Saturday. Dover scored 5 points, grabbed 6 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 4 balls in 24 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Gospic Croatia Osiguranje (13-1) is placed first in the A1. It was her team's 12th consecutive victory in a row. Dover has reliable stats this year: 11.7ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.1apg and 2.3spg in the 13 games. She plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

   #6. Forward Lea Jagodic (182-91, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian A2 (12th division) was not able to secure a victory for San Martino (16-3) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Jagodic's good performance the second-placed San Martino was defeated 79-70 in Venezia by the leading Umana Reyer in the North group. She scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Jagodic averaged so far 14.4ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.3apg and 2.1spg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Slovenian National Team roster.

   #7. International forward Martina Osterman (188-88, currently plays in Adriatic League), who plays in Bosnia couldn't help Mladi Krajisnik (8-9) in their last game. Despite Osterman's very good performance Mladi Krajisnik (#6) lost 67-75 in Pecs to the second-ranked PEAC-PECS in the group T of Adriatic League. She had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 10 rebounds in 32 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Adriatic League Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. This year Osterman's overall stats are: 8.1ppg and 3.9rpg in the 15 games. She is also Slovenian national team player.

   #8. Power forward Eva Komplet (182-86, currently plays in Croatia) contributed to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked ZKK Split (6-8) crushing them 123-56 in the Croatian A1 on Saturday night. She scored only 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Lupa Promotion this season. Her team is placed in the A1. Komplet plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

   #9. International center Sandra Pirsic (197-84, currently plays in France) contributed to a Villeneuve D'Ascq's surprising victory against the fourth-ranked Lyon (11-7) 74-61 in the French LFB in Saturday night's game. She scored only 2 points and blocked 4 shots. Villeneuve D'Ascq ESB Lille Metropole (7-11) is placed 11th in the LFB. Pirsic's total stats this season are: 4.2ppg and 3.0rpg. She is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.

One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Slovenian passport:

   #1. Branka Vukicevic (173-G-82, currently plays in Croatia), who plays in the Croatian A1 could not help the league outsider ZKK Agram (0-14) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Vukicevic's good performance the bottom-ranked ZKK Agram was defeated 64-54 on the road by the one of league's weakest teams Ragusa (#11). She scored 10 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 5 assists. Vukicevic is currently seventh on the league's list of top scorers. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Vukicevic averages: 16.1ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.9apg.   

Le Havre lands Katarina Ristic - 9 days ago
Al Aplemont Le Havre (NF1) landed 33-year old Slovenian ex-international guard Katarina Ristic (170-84, agency: Two Points). She played most recently at PINKK-Pecsi in Hungarian A Division. In 13 games she averaged 8.9ppg, 2.5rpg, 2.8apg and 1.2spg last season. Ristic also played 5 games in Eurocup where she had very impressive stats: 16.4ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.2apg and 2.0spg. Katarina Ristic (ex-PINKK-Pecsi 424) returns to France - 11 days ago
Former Slovenian National team member Katarina Ristic(170-G-84) returned to France to play for Le Havre in the coming 2017-18 season. Ristic had previously played in France for Villeneuve D'Ascq during the 2014-15 season, averaging 2.4 points in 27 LFB (Ligue Feminine de Basketball) games. Ristic arrives from PINKK-Pecsi 424, where she averaged 8.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 13 Hungaria A Division games last season and 16.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2....   [read more]

Tina Jakovina (ex-Vicenza) signing with PINKK Pecsi 424 - 27 days ago
Slovenian National team member Tina Jakovina(183-F-92) is joining Hungarian side PINKK Pecsi 424 for the coming season 2017-18. Jakovina arrives from Italian club Velco Vicenza, where she averaged 14.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.2 blocks in 31 Serie A2 League games last season, her first abroad.
