Helios became the second team to book the League Play-Off spot with an 82-73 road win over Maribor in Round 16.
Maribor Messer-Helios 73-82: The game saw 20 lead changes before Helios scored douzen consecutive points to go up 70-65 with 4:47 into the game. Maribor cut the deficit to 70-72, but Helios went on a 10-0 run to take the largest lead of the game, 82-70, with 51 seconds left. Damir Rancic (199-G-83) scored game-high 26 points including six 3-pointers for Helios, Blaz Mahkovic (194-F-90) added 17 points, Jure Mocnik (185-PG-85) poured in 13 points and Nikola Gacesa (205-F-87, college: TCU) added 10 points. Maribor was led by Igor Maric (196-F-85) with his 18 points and Igor Josipovic (203-F/C-88) scored 16 points.
Zlatorog-Tajfun Sentjur 72-79: There was one lead change. Tajfun made it seven minutes into the game and never looked back. An injury-riddled Zlatorog, who played without experienced Samo Udrih (195-G-79) and Sasa Mucic (202-F-83), led by ten at the break and 56-51 early in the final quarter. Tajfun scored nine straight points to take a lead 60-56 and hit back-to-back 3-pointers to go up 70-60 with 1:39 remaining. Mladen Primorac (210-C-90) had 23 points and Mike Venezia (185-PG-88, college: Colgate) added 18, both off the bench, for Tajfun. No player scored in double figures for Zlatorog. Jaka Brodnik (203-F-92), Luka Lapornik (195-G-88) and Ziga Dimec (208-C/F-93) finished with 9 points.
Hopsi-Grosuplje 87-72: Hopsi have emerged triumphant from the battle od the bottom-placed team. After trailing 9-10, Hopsi scored five straight points to go up 14-10 and never looked back from there. They made a 14-2 run spanning halftime to take a lead 48-33 and had their largest lead of the game at 72-49 early in the final period to spoil Predrag Milovic's debut as Grosuplje's coach. Danijel Vujasinovic (180-G-89) scored 19 points, Goran Jagodnik (203-F-74, agency: Beo Basket) had 16 points and 12 rebounds, Kervin Bristol (208-F-88, college: Fordham) collected 16 points and 11 rebounds and Martin Mezan (192-G-93) added 16 points. Grosuplje shot better from 3-point range (48 percent, 11-22) than from 2-point range (38 percent, 12-32). Sasa Zagorac (205-F/C-84) finished with game high 28 points, Marko Antonijevic (189-G-81, agency: Court Side) posted 11 points and Andrew Dikas (193-G-88, college: Brewton Parker) scored 10 points.
Rogaska Crystal-LTH Castings Mercator 57-53: Rogaska grabbed its first lead of the game at 21-20 late in the first halftime and the largest lead of either team was Rogaska's eight points of the lead, 43-35, late in the final quarter. LTH overcoming a deficit with 11 straight points to go up 46-43. Rogaska answered with a 7-1 run to take a lead 50-47. LTH tied at 52 with 37 seconds left. Milos Miljkovic (204-F/C-84) and Tadej Kostomaj (186-G-87) both made a pair of free throws for Rogaska, while LTH's Robert Abramovic (185-G-88) hit just one of two free throws and Pavle Boljkovac (190-G-85, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) missed both free throws at 53-56 with three seconds left. Milos Miljkovic was lone Rogaska's scorer in double figures with 18 points. Rogaska's bench players outscored the opposing reserves 26-1 and LTH was outrebounded 21-35, picking up just 2 offensive boards to Rogaska's 11. Robert Abramovic finished with 16 points and Pavle Boljkovac added 15.
Slovan-Elektra 91-83: Slovan made a 20-3 run to go up 28-12 and had their largest lead of the game at 51-31 late in the first halftime. Elektra cut the deficit to 66-68 in the final quarter, but Dejan Mlakar (192-G-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) scored seven straight points for Slovan to secure the win. Dejan Mlakar finished with league-high 38 points including five 3-pointers, Stipe Modric (206-F-79) came off the bench for 14 points and 11 rebounds, Vjekoslav Petrovic (193-G/F-81) added 11 points and Aleksandar Tomic (184-G-93) 10. Slovan shot 58-percent, 14-of-24, from 3-points range. Elektra was led by Simo Atanackovic (206-F-90) with his 27 points and 12 rebounds, Drago Brcina (203-F/C-87) had 19 points off the bench, Ziga Zagorc (184-PG-84) scored 18 points and Mensud Julevic (200-PF-85) finished with 10 points.

Anadolu Efes Istanbul (BSL) signed 24-year old Slovenian international center Alen Omic (217-102kg-92). He will still stay in Spain as he played last season at Gran Canaria in Spanish Liga Endesa. The last season Omic played also at Gran Canaria (Liga Endesa) in Spanish league. In 35 games Omic had 12.0ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.1apg. He helped them to make it to the final and supercup semifinals. Banvit Basketbol Kulubu (BSL) landed 42-year old Slovenian coach Saso Filipovski. He has coached for the last two years at Stelmet Zielona Gora in Polish TBL league. He helped them to win the league title and the supercup. He has coached also professionally in Italy (Virtus Roma), Russia and Slovenia (Un.Olimpija). Krka Novo Mesto (Telemach League) agreed terms with 30-year old ex-international guard Sandi Cebular (195-86, agency: Duran International). He played last season at Tajfun (Telemach League). In 12 games he had 14.3ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.3apg and 1.2spg. He helped them to win the Supercup. Cebular also played 6 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 14.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.5apg and 1.3spg.
