24-year old guard Matic Lozar (183-G-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for Crnomelj and receives a Eurobasket.com 2SKL Player of the Week award for round 17.
He got a double-double of 16 points and 10 assists, while his team beat Konjice (#5, 9-8) 74-60. Crnomelj maintains the 9th position in Slovenian 2SKL. Crnomelj is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-11 record. Lozar has many years of experience at Crnomelj, through which he has constantly improved. Lozar has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 8.5rpg) and assists (7th best: 4.5apg).

Second best performed player last round was Zeljko Zagorac (204-F-81) of Parklji. He is former international forward in his first season at Parklji. In the last game Zagorac recorded impressive 33 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Parklji lost that game 80-91 to the higher-ranked Triglav (#4, 9-8). Parklji is still in a red zone at 8th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-9 record. Zagorac is one of the most experienced players at Parklji and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#2). He also registered 9.1 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Igor Spesic (204-F/C-83) of Branik (#12). Spesic scored 15 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Branik, leading his team to a 75-59 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Pingvini (#11, 4-13). Branik can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-14 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Spesic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Spesic has individually a great season in Slovenia. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.6ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 8.5rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Zan Mark Sisko (189-PG-97) of Ilirija - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists
5. Anze Zdolsek (177-G-92) of Triglav - 26 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Urban Verbic (191-G-89) of Pingvini - 28 points and 8 rebounds
7. Tilen Zalar (189-G-87) of Plama Pur - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Goran Jagodnik (202-F-74) of Ilirija - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Sanel Bajramlic (198-SF-85) of Elektra - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Jan Rizman (196-SG-94) of Elektra - 32 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
