Here is the weekly review of the top performing Slovenian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former U16 international center Jusuf Nurkic (213-94, currently plays in NBA). He led Portland Trail Blazers to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers (22-42) 114-108 in the NBA in Thursday night's game. Nurkic was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 20 rebounds. Nurkic also added 8 assists and 6 blocks in 38 minutes on the court. The Portland Trail Blazers have 28-34 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Nurkic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.5ppg, 9.5rpg, 4.5apg, 1.9bpg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 54.5% and FT: 75.0% in eight games he played so far. Nurkic has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian. He played for the Slovenian U16 national team seven years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Gasper Vidmar (211-87, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). Vidmar contributed to Banvit's victory against the closely-ranked EWE Baskets (10-4) 70-61 in the Basketball Champions League last Tuesday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 10 rebounds. Banvit Basketbol Kulubu (11-3) is placed second in group A. Vidmar has relatively good stats this season: 11.0ppg, 5.8rpg, 2FGP: 69.6%(64-92) and FT: 48.5%. He is in the roster of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Luka Doncic (201-99, currently plays in Spain). Doncic could not help Real Madrid (15-6) to beat CB Canarias (17-5). He scored 9 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 27 minutes. But Real Madrid lost 64-75 on the road to the leading CB Canarias. It was Real Madrid's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Doncic's overall stats are: 7.9ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.0apg, 2FGP: 58.5%(38-65), 3FGP: 36.5% in 21 games. He is also a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

Point guard Goran Dragic (190-86, currently plays in NBA) was the major contributor in a Miami Heat's victory against the Charlotte Hornets (30-35) 108-101 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Dragic recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and making 10 passes. He also added 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). The Miami Heat has 31-34 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Dragic has very high stats. He averages: 20.2ppg, 3.9rpg, 6.1apg and 1.1spg. Dragic is also Slovenian national team player.

International point guard Domen Bratoz (189-93, currently plays in Estonia) was the main contributor in Rapla's victory against one of league's weakest teams Valga (6-16) 72-70 in the Estonian Alexela KML last Tuesday. He was the best player in that game. Bratoz scored 26 points (!!!) and grabbed 6 rebounds in 35 minutes. AVIS Rapla (13-9) is placed third in the Alexela KML. This year Bratoz has relatively solid stats: 14.4ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.9apg and 2.3spg in 22 games. He plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

   #6. Guard Jaka Blazic (196-90, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Baskonia's victory against the 13th-ranked Valencia Basket (5-16) 71-63 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. Blazic scored 9 points. Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz (16-6) is placed second in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Blazic's total stats this season are: 7.7ppg and 2.7rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Slovenian National Team roster.

Former U20 international guard Maj Kovacevic (196-90, currently plays in Croatia) contributed to a KK Zadar's victory against the closely-ranked KK Zabok (7-12) 95-81 in the Croatian A1 in Thursday night's game. Kovacevic was the top player that evening. He scored 20 points and added 4 passes in 27 minutes. KK Zadar (9-7) is placed sixth in the A1. Kovacevic has reliable stats this year: 14.7ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.4apg in seven games. He used to play for the Slovenian U20 national team seven years ago.

Balazic scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Gaziantep Basketbol (10-10) is placed seventh in the BSL. Balazic's total stats this season are: 7.6ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.7apg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2015.

This year Nikolic's total stats are: 7.6ppg, 1.4rpg and 2.9apg in 10 games. He is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.

Joksimovic recorded 7 points and added 5 assists. Cibona was defeated 100-88 at home by the lower-ranked Mega Leks (#10). It was Cibona's eighth consecutive loss in a row. His team will play only one more game in the ABA League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Joksimovic has averaged so far 6.4ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.3apg. He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Slovenian senior national team.

   #11. Former international center Hasan Rizvic (212-84, currently plays in Turkey) helped Gelisim win their game against one of league's weakest teams Mamak DSI 81-76 in the Turkish TBL (second division) in Friday night's game. Rizvic was the top player that evening. He had a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 12 rebounds in 24 minutes. Rizvic has very impressive stats this year: 15.9ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.4apg, 1.6bpg and 1.6spg in 28 games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team seven years ago.

   #12. International center Alen Omic (216-92, currently plays in Spain) helped Unicaja Malaga win their game against the closely-ranked RETAbet BB 74-63 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Omic scored 7 points. Omic has averaged so far 3.4ppg and 2.6rpg. He is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.

   #13. International swingman Jaka Klobucar (198-87, currently plays in Turkey) was not able to secure a victory for Istanbul BBSK (7-13) in their last game. Despite Klobucar's good performance Istanbul BBSK lost 68-80 in Usak to the lower-ranked (#13) Sportlif. He scored 12 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 32 minutes. Klobucar's stats this year are: 11.6ppg, 4.4rpg, 3.4apg and 1.4spg in 19 games. He is also Slovenian national team player.

   #14. Former international center Mirza Begic (216-85, currently plays in ABA League) managed to help KK Cedevita Zagreb to win against the ninth-ranked Un.Olimpija 94-92 in the ABA League in Sunday night's game. Begic recorded only 4 points. Begic has averaged so far 5.2ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.2bpg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2013.

   #15. Former U20 international forward Dejan Cigoja (205-88, currently plays in Austria) couldn't help Raiffeisen Wels (13-11) in their last game. Despite Cigoja's very good performance Raiffeisen Wels lost 78-87 in Traiskirchen to the lower-ranked (#5) Arkadia Lions. He was the top scorer with 22 points. Cigoja also added 8 rebounds in 34 minutes. Cigoja has averaged so far 8.8ppg and 4.0rpg in 23 games. He used to play for the Slovenian U20 national team nine years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Slovenian passport but never been selected to any of Slovenian national teams:

   #1. Kevin Pangos (188-PG-93, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Lithuania). Pangos could not help Zalgiris (22-3) to beat Neptunas (14-11). He recorded 8 points and added 6 assists in 19 minutes. The league leader Zalgiris lost 69-78 at home to the lower-ranked (#4) Neptunas. It was Zalgiris' first loss after three consecutive victories. This year Pangos' total stats are: 9.2ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.6apg in 25 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Slovenian.

   #2. Ivan Marinkovic (209-F/C-93, currently plays in ABA League) was not able to help KK Zadar (8-17) in their last game on Monday. Despite Marinkovic's good performance KK Zadar was defeated 85-79 on the road by the higher-ranked Karpos Sokoli (#8). He recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Marinkovic's team will play only one more game in the ABA League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Marinkovic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 18.0ppg and 6.1rpg. Marinkovic is another player who holds two passports: Serbian and Slovenian. Despite his Slovenian nationality, Marinkovic previously played for the Serbian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Slovenian team.

   #3. Robert Abramovic (185-PG-88, currently plays in Balkan League) led his Kosovan team Peja to a victory over the sixth-ranked Kozuv (3-3) 83-66 in the Balkan League last Wednesday. Abramovic was the top player that evening. He recorded 20 points and added 3 assists (made all of his five free throws) in 35 minutes. KB Peja (3-3) is placed second from the bottom (#11) in the Balkan League. Abramovic averaged so far 13.7ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.0apg in three games.

   #4. Radoslav Pekovic (215-C-94, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) managed to help KK Kumanovo 2009 in a victory against the third-ranked Strumica 79-62 in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga in Saturday night's game. He scored only 4 points in 12 minutes. KK Kumanovo 2009is placed fourth in Places 1-6 group. It's Pekovic's first season with the team. Pekovic has averaged so far 5.8ppg and 3.5rpg in 13 games.

   #5. Tim Osolnik (190-G-96, currently plays in Croatia) was not able to secure a victory for Gorica (3-15) in their game against Cedevita (14-5) in the Croatian A1. He cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Osolnik scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Gorica was crushed 92-70 in Zagreb by the much higher-ranked Cedevita (#5). It's Osolnik's first season with the team. He has averaged so far 2.2ppg and 1.5rpg.

   #6. Emanuel Richter (192-G-86, currently plays in Germany) contributed to Topstar's victory against the seventh-ranked Oberhaching 78-74 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) on Saturday night. Richter scored 5 points in 31 minutes. He averaged so far 11.2ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.8apg and 1.7spg in 18 games.

   #7. Experienced Fuad Memcic (210-C/F-82, agency: Promotex, currently plays in Austria) contributed to an Arkadia Lions' victory against the closely-ranked Raiffeisen Wels 87-78 in the Austrian A Bundesliga on Friday night. Memcic scored only 2 points. He has averaged so far 3.2ppg and 1.5rpg. Memcic has both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities.

   #8. Ljubisa Markovic (212-C/F-91, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the second-ranked Stade 78-63 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. He scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 29 minutes. Markovic has very impressive stats this year: 15.3ppg, 8.3rpg, 2.8apg and 1.1spg in 16 games. He also holds two passports: Slovenian and Serbian.

   #9. Andraz Kavas (208-F-92, agency: Two Points, college: Harding, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Marin 83-67 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Friday. Kavas scored only 2 points and added 3 assists. He has averaged so far 3.4ppg and 1.6rpg.

   #10. Leon Dronjak (191-G-91, currently plays in Germany) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ljubisa Markovic and both played together in the last German Regionalliga game. Dronjak contributed to an easy victory against the second-ranked Stade 78-63. He scored only 2 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 30 minutes. Dronjak averaged so far 11.2ppg, 2.3rpg, 4.9apg and 1.4spg in 16 games.

Israel - Slovenia 89-84 Israel outscored Slovenia in Tel Aviv at the friendly international tournament. Israel used a strong first half to seal 89-84 victory. Hapoel Migdal Haemek (National League) added to their roster 23-year old American forward Taylor Johns (201-100kg-94, college: Cal-Riverside, agency: 3Eye).
