Goran
Jagodnik
Former international Forward Goran Jagodnik (202-F-74, agency: BeoBasket) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Ilirija, receiving a Eurobasket.com 2SKL Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 42-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds, while his team crushed Grosuplje (#4, 10-8) with 23-point margin 81-58. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Ilirija to consolidate first place in the Slovenian 2SKL. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Ilirija keeps a perfect 18-0 record. In the team's last game Jagodnik had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Ilirija's top player in his first season with the team. Goran Jagodnik has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.6ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 9.9rpg) and averages impressive 61.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old Rok Jakobcic (199-G-91) of Triglav. Jakobcic had a very good evening with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Triglav cruised to a 84-77 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Pingvini (#11, 4-14). This victory allowed Triglav to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 10-8 record is not bad at all. Jakobcic is one of the most experienced players at Triglav and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Serbian forward Ilija Zolotic (207-F/C-86) of Celje (#8). Zolotic scored 23 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Zolotic's great performance Celje lost 81-94 to slightly higher-ranked Parklji (#6, 9-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Celje ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Zolotic could help Celje to bring them higher in the standings. Zolotic has a great season in Slovenia. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.5rpg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Pavle Cvetinovic (215-C-97) of Elektra - 16 points and 22 rebounds
5. Vito Furlan (198-F/C-90) of Sezana - 18 points and 11 rebounds
6. Zeljko Zagorac (204-F-81) of Parklji - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Tilen Zalar (189-G-87) of Plama Pur - 11 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists
8. Sanel Bajramlic (198-SF-85) of Elektra - 23 points and 6 rebounds
9. Anze Srebovt (196-F/G-91) of Plama Pur - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
10. David Sovre (188-G) of Pingvini - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Skerbec's 32-point game gives him (Second Stage) Player of the Week award - 2 days ago
23-year old forward Tim Skerbec (200-F-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for Portoroz (they play in Places 7-12) and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage). He had the game-high 32 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Portoroz as his team was edged out by Sencur Gor. (#8, 7-4) 75-74. Portoroz maintains the 6th position in Slovenian league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already...   [read more]

Rogaska pick up big road win - 2 days ago
Rogaska handed Zlatorog their fist home loss of the season, 75-59, in the opening Round of the Slovenian League Championship Stage. Championship Stage - Round1: Union Olimpija-Hopsi 78-60: Hopsi led only once in the game, and that came in the opening second on two Dejan Cup (202-PF-83) free-throws. Brandon Jefferson (175-PG-91, college: Metro St.) made first of his six 3-pointers to inspire Olimpija on an 8-0 run for a 16-7 lead and later the home team made a 10-0 run spanning halftim...   [read more]

Matija Vravnik gets MVP of the Week award for Slovenian 2SKL - 5 days ago
Matija Vravnik (198-F-92) had a great game in the last round for Triglav and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com 2SKL Player of the Week award for round 19. The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 16 points and eleven rebounds, while his team outclassed Branik (#12, 3-16) with 46-point margin 116-70. Triglav is placed at 3rd position in Slovenian 2SKL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Triglav will need more victories to improv...   [read more]
