Here is the weekly review of the top performing Slovenian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Luka Doncic (201-99, currently plays in Spain). He could not help Real Madrid (16-7) in their last game. Despite Doncic's very good performance Real Madrid lost 83-90 on the road to the much lower-ranked (#15) Blusens Monbus. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Doncic also added 3 assists in 27 minutes on the court. This year Doncic averages: 8.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 3.0apg, 2FGP: 57.5%(42-73), 3FGP: 35.5% in 23 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Goran Dragic (190-86, currently plays in NBA). Dragic led Miami Heat to a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans (28-41) 120-112 in the NBA last Wednesday. He was MVP of the game. Dragic scored 33 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds. The Miami Heat has 34-35 record this season. Dragic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 20.3ppg, 3.9rpg, 6.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 50.6%, 3FGP: 42.6% and FT: 79.3%. Dragic is in the roster of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Edo Muric (202-91, currently plays in Turkey). He was not able to help Banvit (15-6) in their last game. Despite Muric's good performance Banvit lost 83-88 in Bursa to the lower-ranked (#9) Tofas. He scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. They ended the series of four consecutive victories. This year Muric's overall stats are: 7.9ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 58.1%(50-86), 3FGP: 26.5% and FT: 86.7% in 21 games. He is also a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #4. Center Mirza Begic (216-85, currently plays in ABA League) contributed to Cedevita's victory against the ninth-ranked FMP (10-16) 104-92 in the ABA League in Saturday night's game. Begic scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. KK Cedevita Zagreb (20-6) is placed second in the ABA League. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the ABA League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Begic's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 5.6ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.2bpg. Begic has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2013.

   #5. International center Gasper Vidmar (211-87, currently plays in Turkey) is a teammate of previously mentioned Edo Muric and both played together in the last Turkish BSL game. Vidmar was not able to secure a victory for Banvit (15-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance Banvit lost 83-88 in Bursa to the lower-ranked (#9) Tofas. Vidmar scored 10 points in 24 minutes. Vidmar has relatively good stats this year: 10.1ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.1apg in 21 games. He plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

Guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92, currently plays in France) was the main contributor in a Limoges CSP Elite's victory against the 16th-ranked Olympique Antibes (7-16) crushing them 95-66 in the French ProA on Saturday night. Prepelic was the best player in that game. He recorded 25 points, 5 assists and 3 steals. Limoges CSP Elite (11-11) is placed ninth in the ProA. This season Prepelic has very high stats. He averages: 16.0ppg, 3.1rpg and 3.5apg. Prepelic is an international player who is currently on the senior Slovenian National Team roster.

Former U16 international center Jusuf Nurkic (213-94, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Portland Trail Blazers' victory against the San Antonio Spurs (52-15) 110-106 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. He scored 16 points, grabbed 9 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 4 balls in 35 minutes. The Portland Trail Blazers have 30-36 record this season. Nurkic has very impressive stats this year: 14.1ppg, 9.3rpg, 3.6apg, 1.8bpg and 1.5spg in 12 games. He used to play for the Slovenian U16 national team seven years ago.

   #8. Center Alen Omic (216-92, currently plays in EuroCup) helped his Spanish team Unicaja Malaga win their game against the league leader Lokomotiv (5-1) 74-63 in the Eurocup last Friday. Omic scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Unicaja Malaga (3-3) is placed second in the Eurocup. Omic's total stats this season are: 5.3ppg and 4.4rpg. He plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

   #9. International guard Jaka Blazic (196-90, currently plays in Euroleague) helped his Spanish team Baskonia edge the second-ranked CSKA (19-7) 79-78 in the Euroleague on Friday night. Blazic scored 7 points in only 13 minutes. Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz (15-11) is placed seventh in the Euroleague. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Blazic's total stats are: 4.7ppg and 2.3rpg in 26 games. He is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.

   #10. An experienced small forward Nebojsa Joksimovic (193-81, currently plays in ABA League) couldn't help Cibona (11-15) in their game against Krka (8-18) in the ABA League. Joksimovic scored 7 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Cibona was defeated 95-91 in Novo Mesto by the one of league's weakest teams Krka (#13). It was Cibona's ninth consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended in the ABA League. Joksimovic has averaged so far 6.4ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.3apg. He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Slovenian senior national team.

   #11. Former international point guard Luka Rupnik (186-93, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in their game against Valencia Basket in the Spanish Liga Endesa, despite his good performance last Saturday. Rupnik scored 11 points and added 3 passes in only a mere 14 minutes. But his team lost 86-101. Rupnik has averaged so far 6.5ppg, 1.5rpg, 3.6apg and 1.2spg in 17 games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team two years ago.

   #12. International point guard Domen Bratoz (189-93, currently plays in Estonia) couldn't help Rapla in their game against Tartu Ulikool in the Estonian Alexela KML, despite his good performance in Friday night's game. He scored 11 points, had 6 boards, passed 4 assists and added 3 steals in 29 minutes. But his team was edged 68-65. This year Bratoz has relatively solid stats: 14.1ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.9apg and 2.2spg in 24 games. He is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.

   #13. Former international center Hasan Rizvic (212-84, currently plays in Turkey) helped Gelisim win their game against one of league's weakest teams Mamak DSI 81-76 in the Turkish TBL (second division) on Friday night. Rizvic was the top player that evening. He had a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 12 rebounds in 24 minutes. Rizvic has very impressive stats this year: 15.9ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.4apg, 1.6bpg and 1.6spg in 28 games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team seven years ago.

   #14. Former U20 international guard Maj Kovacevic (196-90, currently plays in ABA League) helped his Croatian team KK Zadar win their game against the closely-ranked Un.Olimpija 81-78 in the ABA League last Sunday. Kovacevic scored 11 points in 34 minutes. Kovacevic has averaged so far 9.9ppg and 1.7apg in nine games. He used to play for the Slovenian U20 national team back in 2010.

   #15. International swingman Jaka Klobucar (198-87, currently plays in Turkey) helped Istanbul BBSK win their game against the closely-ranked Trabzonspor 96-78 in the Turkish BSL on Sunday night. Klobucar scored 12 points and added 4 assists. Klobucar has reliable stats this season: 11.6ppg, 4.2rpg, 3.4apg and 1.5spg. He is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Slovenian passport but never been selected to any of Slovenian national teams:

   #1. Ivan Marinkovic (209-F/C-93, currently plays in ABA League) led his Croatian team KK Zadar to a 3-point victory against the closely-ranked Un.Olimpija (10-16) 81-78 in the ABA League on Sunday night. Marinkovic scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. KK Zadar (9-17) is placed 12th in the ABA League. The Regular Season already ended in the ABA League. Marinkovic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.7ppg and 6.1rpg. Marinkovic has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Slovenian. Despite his Slovenian passport, Marinkovic previously played for the Serbian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Slovenian team.

   #2. Rasid Mahalbasic (210-C-90, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Spain) could not help Sevilla (7-15) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Mahalbasic's good performance Sevilla was badly defeated 89-70 at home by the lower-ranked Gran Canaria (#14). He scored 13 points and had 3 steals. Mahalbasic has reliable stats this season: 12.3ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.3apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Austrian and Slovenian.

   #3. Kevin Pangos (188-PG-93, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Lithuania) managed to help B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas to win against the sixth-ranked Vytautas (14-12) 81-70 in the Lithuanian LKL in Sunday night's game. Pangos scored only 4 points and added 4 passes. B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (23-3) is placed first in the LKL. Pangos has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.6apg. He has both Canadian and Slovenian nationalities.

   #4. Radoslav Pekovic (215-C-94, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) contributed to Kumanovo's victory against the sixth-ranked Kozuv (0-2) 108-103 in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga last Saturday. Pekovic recorded 9 points and blocked 2 blocks. KK Kumanovo 2009 (1-0) is placed third in Places 1-6 group. Pekovic has averaged so far 6.1ppg and 3.4rpg.

   #5. Experienced Vlado Ilievski (188-PG-80, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) was not able to help Rabotnicki (0-1) in their last game. Despite his good performance the fourth-placed Rabotnicki (0-1) lost 90-94 in a derby game to the second-ranked Karpos Sokoli in the Places 1-6 group. Ilievski recorded 11 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists in 38 minutes. Ilievski has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 2.5rpg, 6.7apg and 1.2spg in 13 games he played so far. He also holds two passports: Slovenian and FYR Macedonian.

   #6. Emanuel Richter (192-G-86, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for Topstar in their game against Coburg in the German Regionalliga (fourth division). Despite his good performance last Sunday Richter was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 3 passes. Richter averaged so far 11.2ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.8apg and 1.6spg.

   #7. Robert Abramovic (185-PG-88, currently plays in Kosovo) led Peja to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Xhebrailat crushing them 110-78 in the Kosovan SuperLeague on Saturday night. He recorded 13 points and added 6 passes. Abramovic averaged so far 13.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 4.5apg.

   #8. Fuad Memcic (210-C/F-82, agency: Promotex, currently plays in Austria) couldn't help Arkadia Lions in their game against Kapfenberg Bulls in the Austrian A Bundesliga. He recorded 7 points in only 10 minutes. His team were edged 89-86. Memcic has averaged so far 3.3ppg and 1.5rpg in 24 games. He has dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian.

   #9. Bojan Jovanovic (182-G-82, currently plays in Serbia) was the major contributor in Pirot's victory against the eighth-ranked Mladost SP crushing them 106-59 in the Serbian 2MLS (second division) last Saturday. Jovanovic scored 14 points. Jovanovic has averaged so far 3.9ppg and 1.6rpg.

   #10. Tim Osolnik (190-G-96, currently plays in Croatia) couldn't help Gorica in their game against KK Split in the Croatian A1. He scored only 4 points in 12 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 19 points 79-60. Osolnik has averaged so far 2.4ppg and 1.4rpg in 11 games.
