We bring you last week's top performances from Slovenians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Gasper Vidmar (211-87, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He could not help Banvit (11-3) in their last game. Despite Vidmar's very good performance the second-placed Banvit (11-3) lost 87-92 on the road to the lower-ranked (#4) EnBW Ludwigsburg in the group A of Basketball Champions League. He was the top scorer with 20 points. Vidmar also added 4 rebounds in 28 minutes on the court. Vidmar has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 5.6rpg, 2FGP: 69.9%(72-103) and FT: 47.7% in 17 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Luka Doncic (201-99, currently plays in Spain). Doncic was not able to help Real Madrid (16-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Real Madrid was defeated 90-83 in Santoago de Comp by the much lower-ranked Blusens Monbus (#15). Doncic was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 3 assists. This season Doncic averages: 8.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 3.0apg, 2FGP: 57.5%(42-73), 3FGP: 35.5%. He is in the roster of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Alen Omic (216-92, currently plays in Spain). Omic was not able to secure a victory for Unicaja Malaga (15-9) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Unicaja Malaga lost 66-78 in Madrid to the higher-ranked (#3) Movil Estudiantes. Omic was the top scorer with 16 points. He also added 9 rebounds in 30 minutes. This year Omic's overall stats are: 6.3ppg, 4.8rpg, 2FGP: 58.5%(24-41) and FT: 22.2% in eight games. He is also a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #4. Center Jusuf Nurkic (213-94, currently plays in NBA) was the major contributor in a Portland Trail Blazers' victory against the Miami Heat (35-37) 115-104 in the NBA last Sunday. Nurkic had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks in 29 minutes. The Portland Trail Blazers have 33-37 record this season. Nurkic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 14.3ppg, 9.8rpg, 3.3apg, 2.0bpg and 1.4spg in 16 games. Nurkic has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian. He used to play for the Slovenian U16 national team back in 2010.

   #5. International point guard Goran Dragic (190-86, currently plays in NBA) led Miami Heat to an easy victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves (28-43) 123-105 in the NBA on Friday night. Dragic recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and making 10 passes. He also added 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The Miami Heat has 35-37 record this season. This year Dragic has very high stats. He averages: 20.1ppg, 3.9rpg, 5.9apg and 1.3spg. Dragic plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

   #6. Center Mirza Begic (216-85, currently plays in ABA League) contributed to Cedevita's victory against the closely-ranked Partizan (19-7) 83-76 in the ABA League in Saturday night's game. He recorded 7 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in 19 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. KK Cedevita Zagreb (20-6) is placed second in the ABA League. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. This year Begic's total stats are: 5.5ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.2bpg in 26 games. He is a former international player as he played for the Slovenian senior team four years ago.

Klobucar recorded 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi (9-13) is placed 11th in the BSL. This season Klobucar has relatively solid stats: 12.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.3apg and 1.6spg. He is also Slovenian national team player.

   #8. An experienced small forward Nebojsa Joksimovic (193-81, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) couldn't help Cibona in their last game. Despite Joksimovic's good performance Cibona lost 78-83 on the opponent's court to the leading Chalon/Saor in the group Q of FIBA Europe Cup. He scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 29 minutes. Joksimovic has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.0apg and 2.0spg in four games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2015.

   #9. International point guard Aleksej Nikolic (191-95, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help Brose Baskets (10-18) in their game against Baskonia (16-12) in the Euroleague. Nikolic scored only 4 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 8 assists. Brose Baskets was crushed 96-71 in Vitoria by the higher-ranked Baskonia (#7). There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Nikolic has averaged so far 4.1ppg and 2.1apg. He is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.

Blazic scored 7 points in only 13 minutes. Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz (16-12) is placed seventh in the Euroleague. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Blazic has averaged so far 4.5ppg and 2.1rpg in 28 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Slovenian National Team roster.

   #11. Former international forward Jure Balazic (204-80, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to Gaziantep's victory against the closely-ranked Tofas 95-82 in the Turkish BSL on Sunday night. Balazic recorded 13 points. Balazic has averaged so far 7.6ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.6apg. He used to play for the Slovenian national team two years ago.

   #12. Former international power forward Bostjan Nachbar (205-80, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Sevilla's victory against the closely-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada 72-67 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Nachbar recorded 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. Nachbar has reliable stats this year: 12.2ppg and 4.0rpg in 23 games. He used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2013.

   #13. International point guard Domen Bratoz (189-93, currently plays in Estonia) contributed to a 2-point Rapla's victory against the closely-ranked Parnu 93-91 in the Estonian Alexela KML last Saturday. Bratoz recorded 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bratoz's stats this season are: 13.8ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.8apg and 2.2spg. He is also Slovenian national team player.

   #14. Former U20 international point guard Jan Mocnik (178-87, currently plays in Bosnia) led Siroki Primorka to a victory over the third-ranked Gradjanski crushing them 90-70 in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I on Wednesday night. Mocnik was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and making 10 passes. Mocnik also added 4 rebounds in 30 minutes. Mocnik's stats this year are: 13.6ppg, 3.1rpg, 7.4apg and 1.8spg in 17 games. He used to play for the Slovenian U20 national team back in 2007.

   #15. International shooting guard Miha Lapornik (194-93, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help RETAbet BB in their game against UCAM Murcia in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Lapornik recorded 9 points. His team was defeated 82-71. Lapornik has averaged so far 3.7ppg and 1.3rpg. He is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Slovenian passport but never been selected to any of Slovenian national teams:

   #1. Kevin Pangos (188-PG-93, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Euroleague) was the major contributor in Zalgiris' victory against the 14th-ranked Maccabi T-A (10-18) 93-77 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Pangos recorded 15 points, 3 assists and 3 steals; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (13-15) is placed tenth in the Euroleague. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Pangos' first year with the team. Pangos' total stats this season are: 8.2ppg, 1.8rpg and 3.2apg. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Slovenian.

   #2. Ivan Marinkovic (209-F/C-93, currently plays in Croatia) contributed to a 3-point KK Zadar's victory against the closely-ranked KK Vrijednosnice Osijek (11-10) 80-77 in the Croatian A1 in Saturday night's game. Marinkovic scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 17 minutes. KK Zadar (9-9) is placed sixth in the A1. Marinkovic averaged so far 13.9ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.1apg in 20 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Serbian and Slovenian. Despite Marinkovic's Slovenian nationality, he previously played for the Serbian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Slovenian team.

   #3. Radoslav Pekovic (215-C-94, currently plays in Balkan League). Pekovic could not help Kumanovo (5-1) to beat Peja (3-3). He recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and made 2 blocks. Kumanovo was defeated 83-79 on the road by the one of league's weakest teams Peja (#11). Pekovic has averaged so far 6.6ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.1apg.

   #4. Rasid Mahalbasic (210-C-90, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Betis Energia Plus Sevilla to win against the closely-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (10-14) 72-67 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Betis Energia Plus Sevilla (8-15) is placed 13th in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's first victory after seven consecutive loses. Mahalbasic averaged so far 11.7ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.4apg. He has both Austrian and Slovenian nationalities.

   #5. Emanuel Richter (192-G-86, currently plays in Germany) led Topstar to a 3-point victory over the sixth-ranked Bad Aibling (11-11) 97-94 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) last Saturday. Richter was the best player in that game. He recorded 21 points in 34 minutes. BG Topstar Leitershofen/Stadtbergen (9-14) is placed 11th in South-East group. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Richter averaged so far 11.7ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.8apg and 1.6spg in 20 games.

   #6. Experienced Vlado Ilievski (188-PG-80, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) was not able to help Rabotnicki in their game against MZT Skopje in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga. He scored 7 points, made 8 passes and 3 steals in 38 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 19 points 87-68. Ilievski has averaged so far 9.6ppg, 2.3rpg, 6.5apg and 1.3spg in 15 games. He also holds two passports: Slovenian and FYR Macedonian.

   #7. Robert Abramovic (185-PG-88, currently plays in Balkan League) faced previously mentioned Radoslav Pekovic in the Balkan League last game. Abramovic led his Kosovan team Peja to a victory over the closely-ranked Kumanovo 83-79. He was the best player in that game. Abramovic recorded 22 points and added 4 assists in 37 minutes. Abramovic averaged so far 14.4ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.4apg in five games.

   #8. Andraz Kavas (208-F-92, agency: Two Points, college: Harding, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Caceres Basket (12-16) in their last game. Despite his good performance Caceres Basket lost 83-97 in S'Arenal to the higher-ranked (#9) Palma. Kavas recorded 10 points in 16 minutes. Kavas has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 1.6rpg in eight games.

   #9. Ljubisa Markovic (212-C/F-91, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Sixers crushing them 78-57 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds. Markovic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.1ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.6apg and 1.1spg. Markovic has dual citizenship: Slovenian and Serbian.

   #10. Leon Dronjak (191-G-91, currently plays in Germany) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ljubisa Markovic and both played together in the last German Regionalliga game. Dronjak contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Sixers crushing them 78-57. He recorded 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Dronjak averaged so far 10.8ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.7apg and 1.4spg.

Union Olimpija outscored Rogaska 52-37 in the second half of the Finals Game 4 for a 94-78 victory to win their first Slovenian League championship title since the 2008-09 season and 16th overall.
