Australia U19-Spain U19 69:62 Australia U19 overcame Spain U19 in the top game of Group C FIBA U19 World Championship. The team from Oceania won over the European representative 69:62 to take 2-0 record in the group. Australia jumped to a 20:11 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada have signed Latvian big man Kaspars Berzins (213-F/C-85, agency: FCM) on a three year deal from Barons of Riga. Coach Luis Guil has proclaimed the forward as one of the best young players in Europe with the 23 year old also part of the Latvia National Team heading for Eurobasket 2009. Berzins averaged over 10 points and 7 points per game last season while also playing in EuroCup. A good defender, he will form part of a new look Fuenla team for 2009-10   [read more]
