Bottom-ranked Blancos de Rueda managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against fourth-ranked Meridiano Alicante in Valladolid 69-57. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 27-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Blancos de Rueda outrebounded Meridiano Alicante 37-21 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Curtis Borchardt (211-80, college: Stanford, agency: Pro One Sports) had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian guard Diego Garcia (190-79) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side Bulgarian forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Meridiano Alicante's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blancos de Rueda maintains eighteenth position with 5-17 record. Meridiano Alicante lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Unicaja. Blancos de Rueda are looking forward to face league's second-placed Real Madrid on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ACB top team - Regal FC Barcelona (19-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighth ranked Gescrap BB (11-11) in Bilbao 72-65. Slovenian power forward Erazem Lorbek (209-84, college: Michigan St.) notched 15 points to lead the effort and Juan Carlos Navarro supported him with 7 points and 6 assists. Even 22 points by Greek swingman Kostas Vasiliadis (200-84, agency: FCM) did not help to save the game for Gescrap BB. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Regal FC Barcelona have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 19-3 record. Gescrap BB at the other side keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Regal FC Barcelona will play against Cajasol (#9) in Sevilla in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gescrap BB will play on the road against FIATC Joventut in Badalona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Valencia was also quite interesting. Third ranked Caja Laboral (16-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Valencia Basket (11-11). Caja Laboral managed to secure a 5-point victory 68-63 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Valencia Basket. Mirza Teletovic fired 21 points for the winners. Nando De Colo produced 14 points for lost side. Valencia Basket's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Caja Laboral maintains third position with 16-6 record having just three points less than leader FCB Regal. Loser Valencia Basket dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Caja Laboral will meet at home CAI Zaragoza (#7) in the next round. Valencia Basket will play against Meridiano Alicante and hope to secure a win.
An interesting game took place in Zaragoza where higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (13-9) was upset on the court of ninth ranked CAI Zaragoza (12-10) 76-59. Worth to mention a great performance of Bracey Wright who helped to win the game recording 24 points. CAI Zaragoza's coach Jose Luis Abos allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. CAI Zaragoza moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Lagun Aro GBC. Unicaja Malaga at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. CAI Zaragoza's next round opponent will be higher ranked Caja Laboral (#3) in Vitoria and it may be quite challenging game. Unicaja Malaga will play at home against Lagun Aro GBC in San Sebastian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Seventh ranked Lagun Aro GBC (12-10) crushed at home 16th ranked Asefa Estudiantes (6-16) by 22 points 103-81, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. Sergi Vidal scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Lagun Aro GBC's coach Alfonso Alonso felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Lagun Aro GBC moved-up to sixth place, which they share with CAI Zaragoza. Asefa Estudiantes lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Lagun Aro GBC will face higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Asefa Estudiantes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid Baloncesto Fuenlabrada.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 22: UCAM Murcia lost to Cajasol on the opponent's court 60-76. Fuenlabrada unfortunately lost to FIATC Joventut in a home game 55-72. Real Madrid managed to beat Blusens M. on the road 83-69. GC 2014 was defeated by Assignia M. on its own court 63-77.

UCAM Murcia was better in fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded UCAM Murcia 40-17 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American center Paul Davis (211-84, college: Michigan St.) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Italian-Argentinian guard Hernan Jasen (199-78) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Assignia Manresa dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Gran Canaria 2014's 28. Assignia Manresa looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gran Canaria 2014's players. American forward Justin Doellman (206-85, college: Xavier) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-Dominican power forward Josh Asselin (211-78, college: Michigan, agency: Duran International) chipped in 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. The guests were already 16 points ahead at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 21-11 last quarter charge of Gescrap BB cut the lead to 72-65 at the end of the game. Regal FC Barcelona dominated on the defensive end, holding Gescrap BB to just 6 points in first quarter. Gescrap BB was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Slovenian power forward Erazem Lorbek (209-84, college: Michigan St.) notched 15 points to lead the effort and international guard Juan Carlos Navarro (192-80) supported him with 7 points and 6 assists. Even 22 points by Greek swingman Kostas Vasiliadis (200-84, agency: FCM) did not help to save the game for Gescrap BB. American guard Aaron Jackson (193-86, college: Duquesne) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. An interesting game took place in Zaragoza where higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (13-9) was upset on the court of ninth ranked CAI Zaragoza (12-10) 76-59. It looked good early as Unicaja Malaga took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then CAI Zaragoza had a 18-16 second period charge getting the lead and Unicaja Malaga was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-76. CAI Zaragoza forced 20 Unicaja Malaga turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording 24 points. Power forward Pablo Aguilar (203-89) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. CAI Zaragoza's coach Jose Luis Abos allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Croatian power forward Luka Zoric (211-84) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and British forward Joel Freeland (208-87) added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Unicaja Malaga. CAI Zaragoza moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Lagun Aro GBC. Unicaja Malaga at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. CAI Zaragoza's next round opponent will be higher ranked Caja Laboral (#3) in Vitoria and it may be quite challenging game. Unicaja Malaga will play at home against Lagun Aro GBC in San Sebastian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game in Valencia was also quite interesting. Third ranked Caja Laboral (16-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Valencia Basket (11-11). Caja Laboral managed to secure a 5-point victory 68-63 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Valencia Basket. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Valencia Basket won third quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bosnian forward Mirza Teletovic (206-85, agency: Beo Basket) fired 21 points for the winners. Italian-Argentinian guard Pablo Prigioni (191-77) chipped in 6 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. French guard Nando De Colo (202-87) produced 14 points and American forward Niklas Caner-Medley (203-83, college: Maryland, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Valencia Basket's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Caja Laboral maintains third position with 16-6 record having just three points less than leader FCB Regal. Loser Valencia Basket dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost.
