There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in ACB. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Sixteenth-ranked UCAM Murcia (11-21) gave a tough game to second ranked Real Madrid (25-7) on Sunday. Real Madrid managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-15. But UCAM Murcia won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded UCAM Murcia 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by UCAM Murcia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Sergio Llull (190-87) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and international forward Carlos Suarez (202-86, agency: Court Side) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Real Madrid's coach Pablo Laso used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Australian forward David Barlow (205-83, college: Metro St.) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Real Madrid have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 25-7 record having just two points less than leader FCB Regal. UCAM Murcia lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth place with 21 games lost. They share the position with Blusens M.. Real Madrid are looking forward to face league's leader Regal FC Barcelona on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UCAM Murcia will play against Assignia Manresa (#10) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
Important game to mention about took place in San Sebastian. Fifth ranked Gescrap BB (19-13) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Lagun Aro GBC (17-15) 77-76 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by Greek swingman Kostas Vasiliadis (200-84, agency: FCM) who scored that evening 20 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Alex Mumbru supported him with 18 points. Gescrap BB's coach Fotis Katsikaris allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 28 points by American forward Andy Panko (204-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for Lagun Aro GBC. Gescrap BB moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Valencia. Lagun Aro GBC at the other side keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. Gescrap BB will play against Unicaja Malaga (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lagun Aro GBC will play against Cajasol (#6) in Sevilla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Caja Laboral (21-11) against eleventh ranked FIATC Joventut (15-17) on Sunday night. Host Caja Laboral was edged by FIATC Joventut in a tough game in Vitoria 66-68. The best player for the winners was Eulis Baez who scored 10 points. FIATC Joventut's coach Salvador Maldonado used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Mirza Teletovic produced 16 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. FIATC Joventut moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Unicaja and Assignia M. Loser Caja Laboral keeps the third position with 11 games lost. FIATC Joventut will meet at home higher ranked Meridiano Alicante (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Caja Laboral will play against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#14) in Madrid and hope to secure a win.

ACB top team - Regal FC Barcelona (27-5) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Meridiano Alicante (17-14) 83-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Meridiano Alicante. Worth to mention a quality performance of Chuck Eidson who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Regal FC Barcelona have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 27-5 record. Loser Meridiano Alicante keeps the seventh place with 14 games lost. Regal FC Barcelona will face league's second-placed Real Madrid at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Meridiano Alicante will play against FIATC Joventut (#11) in Badalona.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 32: GC 2014 lost to Valencia on the opponent's court 62-77. Assignia M. managed to outperform Asefa Estudian. in a home game 78-75. Fuenlabrada recorded a loss to Unicaja on the road 79-65. CAI Zaragoza defeated Cajasol on its own court 65-59.



Valencia - GC 2014 77-62

Very expected game when 13th ranked Gran Canaria 2014 (12-20) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Valencia Basket (19-13) 77-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. Valencia Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Valencia Basket forced 21 Gran Canaria 2014 turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Victor Claver (207-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and Brazilian center Vitor Faverani (211-88) who added 14 points during the contest. Colombian power forward Juan Palacios (204-85) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and American-Azerbaijani forward Spencer Nelson (203-80, college: Utah St.) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Gran Canaria 2014's coach tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valencia Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gescrap BB. Loser Gran Canaria 2014 keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Valencia Basket will face Blusens Monbus (#15) in Santoago de Comp in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Unicaja Malaga (ACB) is close to sign 24-year old Lithuanian international forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-98kg-89) who currently plays B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania. Kuzminskas managed to play in three leagues this year (!!!). In 19 LKL games he recorded 13.6ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.4apg and 1.6spg. He helped them to win the league title.
