Second games of Liga Endesa Quarterfinals just ended. Regal Barca, Real Madrid and Caja Laboral eliminated their rivals and booked a spot for the Semis. There, Real Madrid and Caja Laboral will meet each other. The format is best-of-five and first game is scheduled for May 24. Barca will play against the winner of Lagun Aro GBC - Valencia series, which is currently tied at 1-1. They will meet in decisive Game Three on Tuesday. Valencia will be the host.

Lucentum - FCB Regal 57-84 (0-2)
The game was mostly controlled by Regal FC Barcelona. Meridiano Alicante was better in second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Regal FC Barcelona made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Senegalese center Boniface Ndong (213-77) scored 14 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Chuck Eidson (202-80, college: S.Carolina, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Regal FC Barcelona's coach Xavier Pascual felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest. Bulgarian forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds and guard Pedro Llompart (190-82) scored 16 points.

Gescrap BB was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 21-17 third quarter run of Caja Laboral. They tied the game at the end of regular time. Then they were better in overtime eventually winning that period 9-7. Caja Laboral made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Gescrap BB helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Italian-Argentinian guard Pablo Prigioni (191-77) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. International swingman Fernando San Emeterio (198-F/G-84) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. American guard Aaron Jackson (193-86, college: Duquesne) replied with 20 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Alex Mumbru (202-79) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gescrap BB. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

Valencia Basket was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Center David Doblas (206-81) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Brazilian point guard Raul Neto (186-92) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Serbian guard Stefan Markovic (194-88) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and French guard Nando De Colo (202-87) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Valencia Basket's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.

Real Madrid had a 29-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Real Madrid especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. American-Azerbaijani point guard Jaycee Carroll (188-83, agency: Priority Sports) scored 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Sergio Llull (190-87) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Guard Txemi Urtasun (193-84, agency: Interperformances) responded with 16 points and American-Bulgarian guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players.
