Barcelona to offer Lorbek largest contract in team history, according to report - Jul 8, 2012

Erazem
Lorbek
If forward Erazem Lorbek (209-F/C-84, college: Michigan St.) is going to head to the San Antonio Spurs next season, he may have to choose between playing on basketball's highest stage or accept one of the largest contract in Barcelona team history.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Spanish team FC Barcelona will offer Lorbek the largest contract in team history.

Again, if the report is true, it would seem Lorbek will have to decide between playing against the best basketball talent in the world or accept a huge payday.

However, this won't be the first time the Spurs had to face this situation. When Tiago Splitter was mulling over a decision to play in the NBA, teams offered Splitter huge offers to remain in the Euroleague but in the end, he passed up on the money and is now a contributor on one of the NBA's best teams.

And with reports that the Spurs are looking at other big men before negotiating with Lorbek, it seems it will be a 50-50 shot Lorbek will make the leap to the NBA next season.
