Katerina Bartonova (173-PG-90) will continue her career in Spain. The Czech Republic National Team point guard penned a 1-year deal with Cadi ICG Software (former Cai la Seu). Bartonova arrives to the club from VS Praha, where she finished last season. The PG joined them in December averaging 10.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4 assists for 28 games. She helped the team to reach ZBL and Cup Semifinals. Bartonova started the season with USK Praha, where she had 1.7 ppg and 1.3 rpg for 6 Euroleague games. She had better numbers for 13 games in ZBL: 4.5 ppg, 3.2 apg and 2.2 rpg. Katerina Bartonova joined USK Praha in 2008 from Sokol Hradec Kralove. With the Praha squad she won two championship titles in Czech Republic. As mentioned above, Bartonova is active member of the Czech Republic National Team. The point guard appeared in 3 games with them at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Ankara, but she had very limited playing time. At 2011 EuroBasket in Poland Bartonova averaged 2.8 points, 2.8 assists and 2.7 rebounds for 9 games. Czech Republic reached Semifinals at this event.

Spain demolish the Finnish side in the first friendly game. The hosts posted an overwhelming 92:28 win in Game 1. Spain dominated the whole game and won all the quarters of the game. They tried hard to post three-digit number at the very end, but were happy to leave the court with 92 points. The teams will meet again tomorrow. [read more]

Miguel Mendez leaves Rivas Ecopolis and will continue his career abroad. The Spanish Specialist left the team after two years.
Last year Miguel Mendez became Spanish LFB Cup Winner -13, Spanish LFB Regular Season Champion -13 and Spanish LFB Finalist -13. Tintos de Toro Caja Rural Zamora (LFB) landed 22-year old Latvian ex-international forward Linda Rubene (190-91). She just graduated from Indiana (NCAA). The last season Rubene also at Indiana University in Big Ten Conference in the NCAA. But in 24 games she averaged only 1.7ppg and 1.3rpg. As mentioned above she is just out of the college and it is her first season in pro basketball. Rubene was also a member of Latvian international program for some years. She played for Latvian Senior National Team in 2010 and previously for U18 National Team in 2009. Rubene represented Latvia at the European Championships U20 in Liepaja (Latvia) three years ago. Her team won Bronze and her stats at that event were 9 games: 0.9ppg. Rubene has played previously for 47.vsk and SK Riga.
