After 3 rounds played we can already see who rules in the LF2 and who belongs to weaker ones.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Universitario de Ferrol as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. Universitario de Ferrol defeated 8th ranked Universidad de Valladolid at home 59-52. Universidad de Valladolid was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Universitario de Ferrol dominated on the defensive end, holding Universidad de Valladolid to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Universitario de Ferrol forced 19 Universidad de Valladolid turnovers and outrebounded them 29-18 including a 24-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Olivia Lett (182-90, college: Illinois Wesleyan) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points. Jamaican center Tajay Ashmeade (190-89, college: Seton Hall) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was center Maria Parro (183-85) with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Universidad de Valladolid's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Universitario de Ferrol have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Universidad de Valladolid at the other side dropped to the tenth place with two games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Universidad de Valladolid will play next round against strong Oviedo trying to get back on the winning streak. Universitario de Ferrol will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Pabellon Ourense on the road.
Undefeated Al-Qazeres (1-1) recorded its first loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by leader Cortegada (2-0) 79-70. It was a key game for the second position in Group A. It was an exceptional evening for guard Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-83) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Amy Syll accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds. American Ndidi Madu (185, college: Florida) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds for Al-Qazeres in the defeat. Cortegada moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Ensino. Al-Qazeres at the other side dropped to the fifth position with one game lost. Cortegada will play against Real Celta Vigo (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Al-Qazeres will play against Maquinaria Ensino in Lugo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
LF2 top team - Casablanca (3-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Las Gaunas (1-2) in Zaragoza 67-42. Casablanca have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 3-0 record, which they share with Real Canoe. Loser Las Gaunas keeps the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Casablanca will meet Orion-GDKO (#5) in the next round. Las Gaunas will play against ASEFA Estudiantes in Madrid.
The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Aros Leon (1-2) played at the court of sixth ranked Oviedo (2-1). Oviedo smashed Aros Leon 74-44. It was a good game for Barbara Matemalas who led her team to a victory with 9 points and 5 assists. Oviedo's coach Ruben Alonso felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oviedo moved-up to fourth place in Group A. Aros Leon at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Oviedo's next round opponent will be Universidad de Valladolid (#10) on the road which should be theoretically another easy game. Aros Leon will play against Arxil Pontevedra (#11).
An interesting game took place in Alcobendas where higher ranked Las Rozas (1-2) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Fundal Alcobendas (2-1) 73-54 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Leslie Knight who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Las Rozas' coach Jose Vicente tested twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Fundal Alcobendas moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Las Rozas dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Fundal Alcobendas will face Gernika (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Las Rozas will play against Segle XXI in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3:
In Group A ADBA won against Arxil Pontev. on the opponent's court 78-65. Real C.Vigo unfortunately lost to Ourense P. in a home game 47-54.
In Group B Orion-GDKO rolled over Tenerife on the road 82-55. Real Canoe defeated Leganes on its own court 66-57. Pais Vasco beat Segle XXI in San Sebastian 66-58. Asefa Estud. won against Gernika at home 72-56.

Group A
Arxil Pontev. - ADBA 65-78

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked ADBA and bottom-ranked Arxil Pontevedra had identical 0-2 record. But Arxil Pontevedra was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Aviles 78-65 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by ADBA. Arxil Pontevedra was better in fourth quarter 19-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ADBA forced 19 Arxil Pontevedra turnovers. Strangely Arxil Pontevedra outrebounded ADBA 39-23 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Anna Boleda (181-81) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Pamela Moral (175-82) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four ADBA players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Russian center Olga Fedorova (189-78) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Canadian center Zara Huntley (188-89) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Arxil Pontevedra's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. ADBA (1-2) left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with 4 other teams. It was Arxil Pontevedra's third loss in a row. They still closes the standings with three games lost. ADBA will have a break next round. Arxil Pontevedra will play on the road against Aros Leon (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aros Leon to just 4 points in first quarter. Oviedo held Aros Leon to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 56.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Oviedo forced 19 Aros Leon turnovers. There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Pabellon Ourense (1-2) defeated on the road higher ranked Real Celta Vigo (1-2) 54-47 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 54-47. Pabellon Ourense dominated on the defensive end, holding Real Celta Vigo to just 5 points in second quarter. It was a great evening for swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Begona Pallardo (168-92) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was Senegalese forward Sabelle Diata (186, college: Northeastern JC) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds and forward Maria Centeno (176-93) scored 6 points and 9 rebounds. Real Celta Vigo's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pabellon Ourense left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Real Celta Vigo. Pabellon Ourense will face league's leader Universitario de Ferrol at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Tenerife - Orion-GDKO 55-82

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Tenerife (0-3) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Orion-GDKO (2-1) 82-55 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Orion-GDKO. Tenerife was better in third quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
