Socinsa Bembibre (#10) forced the game against Gran Canaria (#8) into a double-overtime, but lost by three points 85-88 on Saturday night. It was a good game for Astou Ndour (196-C-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds. Gran Canaria (3-3) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Caja Rural. Newly promoted Socinsa Bembibre dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Gran Canaria will have a break next round. Socinsa Bembibre will play on the road against Hondarribia-Irun (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Uni Girona - Hondar.-Irun 81-62

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Argon Uni Girona (3-2) crushed at home 9th ranked Hondarribia-Irun (2-4) 81-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Argon Uni Girona. Hondarribia-Irun was better in second period 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Argon Uni Girona made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Argon Uni Girona especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. It was a good game for American center Cierra Bravard (193-89, college: Florida St.) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Noemi Jordana (173-80) contributed with 15 points for the winners. point guard Sandra Ygueravide (172-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) replied with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American center Mandisa Stevenson (191-82, college: Auburn) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hondarribia-Irun. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argon Uni Girona moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Hondarribia-Irun at the other side keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Argon Uni Girona will face Cadi ICG S. (#8) in Seu D'urgell in the next round where they are favorite. Hondarribia-Irun will play at home against Socinsa Bembibre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Socinsa Bembibre was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Senegalese center Astou Ndour (196-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds. International power forward Vanessa Ble (190-91) contributed with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. It was a good game for Finnish forward Dionne Pounds (174-84, college: Lamar, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who led her team to a victory with 24 points. point guard Mariona Ortiz (182-92) contributed with 13 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Caja Rural players scored in double figures.
