There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most important game in the last round took place in Vitoria between second ranked Caja Laboral (5-3) and twelfth ranked Blusens Monbus (5-3) on Sunday night. Caja Laboral was defeated by Blusens Monbus in a tough game at home 68-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Caja Laboral. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-68. The best player for the winners was Tunisian center Salah Mejri (217-C-86) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Czech Pavel Pumprla (198-86) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Italian-Argentinian Andres Nocioni (199-79) produced 21 points (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!) for the hosts. Caja Laboral's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blusens Monbus moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Caja Laboral. Blusens Monbus is looking forward to face league's second-placed G.Canaria 2014 in Las Palmas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Caja Laboral will play at home against Unicaja Malaga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Undefeated leader Real Madrid delivered the eighth consecutive victory. This time they beat bottom-ranked Assignia Manresa (0-8) 97-84. International Rudy Fernandez (198-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. Sergio Llull contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) replied with 23 points for Assignia Manresa. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Real Madrid (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 8 victories in a row. Assignia Manresa at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Real Madrid will play against Cajasol (#16) in Sevilla in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Assignia Manresa will play at home against Asefa Estudiantes in Madrid and hopes to get finally their first victory.
UCAM Murcia (#13) forced the game against G.Canaria 2014 (#5) into an overtime, but lost by two points 97-99 on Sunday night. The game took place in Murcia. But the guests from Las Palmas were better at the end. Worth to mention a great performance of Ryan Toolson who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 assists. David Barlow responded with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. G.Canaria 2014 have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Valencia and Gescrap BB. Loser UCAM Murcia keeps the thirteenth position with five games lost. G.Canaria 2014 will meet Blusens Monbus (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UCAM Murcia will play against Blancos de Rueda (#11) in Valladolid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in Madrid. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 15th ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (1-7) to ninth ranked Regal FC Barcelona (5-3) 79-76 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The winners were led by Juan Carlos Navarro who scored that evening 16 points and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Regal FC Barcelona's next round opponent will be higher ranked Valencia Basket (#3) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will play against Gescrap BB (#4) in Bilbao.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Zaragoza. Local CAI Zaragoza (5-3) outscored 16th ranked Cajasol (1-7) 86-55 on Sunday night. The best player for the winners was Damjan Rudez who scored 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CAI Zaragoza have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Cajasol lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. CAI Zaragoza will face FIATC Joventut (#12) in Badalona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cajasol will play at home against the league's leader Real Madrid.

Rest of the games of round 8 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Asefa Estudian. defeated Unicaja in Madrid 85-74. CB Canarias was beaten by Valencia at home 69-73. FIATC Joventut lost to Gescrap BB on the opponent's court 62-80. Blancos de R. managed to outperform Lagun Aro GBC in a home game 76-61.

Assignia M. - Real Madrid 84-97

Undefeated leader Real Madrid delivered the eighth consecutive victory. This time they beat bottom-ranked Assignia Manresa (0-8) 97-84. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Assignia Manresa was better in third quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Assignia Manresa was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. International Rudy Fernandez (198-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. International Sergio Llull (192-87) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) replied with 23 points and American-Madagascar power forward Charles Ramsdell (208-85, college: Tulsa, agency: Court Side) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Assignia Manresa. Four Assignia Manresa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Madrid (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 8 victories in a row.
