Coppenrath's 19 points and 8 rebounds give him LEB Gold Player of the Week award - Nov 19, 2012

Taylor
Coppenrath
31-year old forward Taylor Coppenrath (205-F-81) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Lucentum and receives a Eurobasket.com LEB Gold Player of the Week award for round 7.
He had the game-high 19 points adding eight rebounds for Lucentum in his team's victory, helping them to beat Forca Lleida (#11, 2-5) 79-66. Lucentum is placed at 2nd position in Spanish LEB Gold. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Lucentum will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Coppenrath turned to be Lucentum's top player in his first season with the team. University of Vermont graduate has very impressive stats this year. Coppenrath is in league's top in points (2nd best: 17.7ppg) and averages solid 67.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kiril Wachsmann (203-C/F-83, agency: Edge Sports) of Melilla. He is German in his 2nd season at Melilla. In the last game Wachsmann recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Melilla lost that game 57-64 to the higher-ranked Breogan (#6, 4-3). Melilla is still in a red zone at 13th spot in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Melilla managed to get this year. Wachsmann is well-known at Melilla and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to center Ondrej Starosta (215-C-79) of Planasa NV (#8). Starosta scored 14 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Starosta's great performance Planasa NV lost 77-81 to the league's current leader Andorra (#1, 7-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Planasa NV ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Starosta could help Planasa NV to bring them higher in the standings. Starosta has a great season in Spain. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.1ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 10.7rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jamar Samuels (200-F-89) of Lobe Huesca - 24 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
5. David Mesa (202-C-80) of Clavijo - 18 points and 8 rebounds
6. Alex Llorca (192-G-89) of Lucentum - 13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Thomas Schreiner (195-PG-87) of Andorra - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Urko Otegui (203-F/C-81) of Palencia - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Isaac Lopez (196-F/G-78) of A.Ford Burgos - 16 points and 3 rebounds
10. Andreu Matali (204-F/C-81) of FCB Regal II - 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
