There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most interesting game of round 6 was a home defeat of 7th ranked Aros Leon (2-3) by sixth ranked Al-Qazeres (3-2) who outscored them by 17 points 79-62. The game was mostly controlled by Al-Qazeres. Aros Leon managed to win fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aros Leon to just 7 points in first quarter. Al-Qazeres dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aros Leon's 32. Forward Veronica Sanchez (179-F-85) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and American Ndidi Madu (185, college: Florida) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Maria Garcia (185-85) with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Al-Qazeres moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Ensino and Valladolid. Aros Leon at the other side keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Al-Qazeres is looking forward to face Universidad de Valladolid (#4) at home in the next round. Aros Leon will play against the league's second-placed Cortegada in Vilagarcia Arousa and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Maquinaria Ensino (3-2) against tenth ranked Real Celta Vigo (2-4) on Saturday night. Host Maquinaria Ensino was edged by Real Celta Vigo in a tough game in Lugo 52-55. Guard Noelia Oliva (175-88) notched 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Sabelle Diata supported her with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by center Yaiza Garcia (190-88, agency: Regeneracom Sports) did not help to save the game for Maquinaria Ensino. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Real Celta Vigo moved-up to eighth place in Group A, which they share with Ourense P. Maquinaria Ensino at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Al-Qazeres and Valladolid. Real Celta Vigo will play against higher ranked Oviedo (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Maquinaria Ensino will play against ADBA in Aviles and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between Top Four teams took place in San Sebastian. Second ranked host Pais Vasco (5-1) defeated one of their biggest challengers Casablanca (4-2) 71-56. It was a key game for the top position in Group B. The best player for the winners was Stephanie Madden who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Marta Garcia who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Pais Vasco have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Real Canoe and Orion-GDKO. Loser Casablanca dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Alcobendas. Pais Vasco will meet Las Gaunas (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Casablanca will play against Las Rozas and hope to secure a win.
LF2 top team - Universitario de Ferrol (6-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Oviedo (3-3) 81-66. It was a good game for Raquel Asensio who led her team to a victory with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Universitario de Ferrol have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 6-0 record. Oviedo at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Universitario de Ferrol's next round opponent will be Arxil Pontevedra (#11) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Oviedo will play against Real Celta Vigo (#9).
LF2 top team - Real Canoe (5-1) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Gernika (1-5) 66-58. Monica Garrido scored 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Canoe maintains first position in Group B with 5-1 record, which they share with Pais Vasco and Orion-GDKO. Gernika lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. Real Canoe will face Fundal Alcobendas (#4) at home in the next round. Gernika will play against Tenerife (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 6:
In Group A winless Arxil Pontev. lost to Ourense P. on the opponent's court 45-50. ADBA lost to undefeated Cortegada in a home game 54-69.
In Group B Segle XXI was rolled over Alcobendas on the road 49-74. Las Rozas was defeated by Tenerife on its own court 53-60. Asefa Estud. was beaten by Orion-GDKO in Galdakao 80-70. Winless Leganes lost to Las Gaunas at home 73-77.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 26 points and 6 rebounds by Leslie Knight of Alcobendas.

LF2 top team - Universitario de Ferrol (6-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Oviedo (3-3) 81-66. Oviedo was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 55-34 second half run of Universitario de Ferrol. They made 21-of-23 charity shots (91.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for forward Raquel Asensio (178-83) who led her team to a victory with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Jamaican center Tajay Ashmeade (190-89, college: Seton Hall) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Lara Fernandez (-87) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Barbara Matemalas (174-86) added 13 points in the effort for Oviedo. Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Arxil Pontevedra (0-6) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Pabellon Ourense (2-4) 50-45 on Saturday. Pabellon Ourense moved-up to eighth place in Group A, which they share with Real C.Vigo. Loser Arxil Pontevedra still closes the standings with six games lost. Pabellon Ourense will have a break next round. Arxil Pontevedra will play at home against the league's leader Universitario de Ferrol (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

ADBA - Cortegada 54-69

Very predictable result in Aviles where top-ranked Cortegada (5-0) defeated 8th ranked ADBA (1-4) 69-54 on Saturday. Cortegada have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group A with 5-0 record having just one point less than leader Real Canoe. Loser ADBA dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Cortegada will face Aros Leon (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. ADBA will play against Maquinaria Ensino in Lugo.

Alcobendas - Segle XXI 74-49

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Fundal Alcobendas and 6th ranked Segle XXI had identical 3-2 record. This time Fundal Alcobendas used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Barcelona 74-49 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Fundal Alcobendas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Fundal Alcobendas forced 23 Segle XXI turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Segle XXI's players. American forward Leslie Knight (184-86) scored 26 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Laura Jornet (181-85) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Four Orion-GDKO and five ASEFA Estudiantes players scored in double figures. Orion-GDKO have a solid four-game winning streak.
