Navarra Pamplona (#4) forced the game against Perfumerias Avenida (#2) into an overtime, but lost by four points 68-72 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a great evening for Isabel Sanchez (179-G/F-76, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Perfumerias Avenida's coach Alberto Miranda used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Perfumerias Avenida maintains second place with 4-2 record having four points less than leader Rivas Ecopolis, which they share with Uni Girona. Navarra Pamplona lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Perfumerias Avenida will face Jopisa Burgos (#5) on the road in the next round. Navarra Pamplona will play against Argon Uni Girona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 21 points and 14 rebounds by Jacinta Monroe of Uni Girona.

Uni Girona - Cadi ICG S. 81-52

Very expected game when 9th ranked Cadi ICG S. (2-4) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Argon Uni Girona (4-2) 81-52 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 29 points. Argon Uni Girona dominated on the defensive end, holding Cadi ICG S. to just 6 points in second quarter. Argon Uni Girona forced 23 Cadi ICG S. turnovers. It was a great evening for American power forward Jacinta Monroe (193-88, college: Florida St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import forward Allison Feaster-Strong (181-76, college: Harvard, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 18 points. Four Argon Uni Girona players scored in double figures. At the losing side Senegalese power forward Astou Traore (182-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Argon Uni Girona moved-up to second place, which they share with Perfumerias. Cadi ICG S. at the other side keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Argon Uni Girona will face Navarra Pamplona (#6) on the road in the next round.

There was a small surprise in Zamora where sixth ranked Caja Rural (4-3) smashed 3rd placed Jopisa Burgos (3-3) 96-72 on Saturday. The game without a history. Caja Rural led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Caja Rural outrebounded Jopisa Burgos 49-25 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Jopisa Burgos' players. It was a great evening for American forward Amy Denson (186-84, college: Arizona St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Finnish center Taru Tuukkanen (190-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Caja Rural players scored in double figures. Caja Rural's coach Juan De Mena felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Berta Chumillas (173-90) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Caja Rural have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Rivas Ecopolis' coach Miguel Mendez felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Lidia Mirchandani (172-76) scored 12 points.
