Talented Gerbert Marti (203-F/C-91) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Prat Juventud and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com LEB Silver Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 21-year old power forward had a double-double of 20 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team beat Aurteneche M. (#4, 4-3) 84-72. Prat Juventud is placed at 7th position in Spanish LEB Silver. Prat Juventud is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. In the team's last game Marti had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Prat Juventud, through which he has constantly improved. Marti has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 8.1rpg) and averages solid 2.1bpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old Antonio Pantin (203-C/F-88) of second-ranked Lan Mobel ISB. Pantin impressed basketball fans with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Lan Mobel ISB cruised to a 86-74 relatively comfortable win over Guadalajara (5-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Lan Mobel ISB consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 5-2 record is not bad at all. Pantin is a newcomer at Lan Mobel ISB and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.0ppg (#5). He also registered 10.9 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Samuel Dominguez (204-C/F-91) of La Palma (#11). Dominguez scored 21 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of La Palma, leading his team to a 75-74 win against the higher-ranked Palma (#8, 3-5). La Palma can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-6 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Dominguez he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Dominguez has a very solid season. In 2 games in Spain he scored 13.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. David Ortega (199-F/C-84) of Castello - 17 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Alejandro Suarez (205-F/C-93) of Prat Juventud - 18 points and 10 rebounds
6. Lance Kearse (198-F) of Lan Mobel ISB - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Sergio Llorente (188-PG-90) of Guadalajara - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Jon Aramburu (204-F-92) of Cafes Aitona - 11 points and 6 rebounds
9. Carlos Martinez (192-G-78) of Cafes Aitona - 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Mick Hedgepeth (205-F/C-89) of Aurteneche M. - 14 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
