The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Real Canoe (5-2) in Madrid on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Fundal Alcobendas (5-2) 59-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Real Canoe. It was a key game for the top position in Group B as both teams had the same 4-2 record before this meeting. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 32-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fundal Alcobendas dominated on the defensive end, holding Real Canoe to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Forward Irene Salgado (184-F-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 24 points for the winners. American forward Leslie Knight (184-86) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Center Daira Varas (193-89) produced 15 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fundal Alcobendas keeps a position of Group B leader, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Real Canoe. Fundal Alcobendas is looking forward to face Tenerife (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Real Canoe will play against Segle XXI (#8) in Barcelona and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Pais Vasco (5-2) against sixth ranked Las Gaunas (4-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Pais Vasco was defeated by Las Gaunas in a tough game in Logrono 53-61. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Pais Vasco. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban guard Licet Castillo (175-73) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Naiara Galilea contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Las Gaunas' coach Luis Birigay allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Pais Vasco. Las Gaunas maintains sixth place in Group B with 4-3 record, which they share with Asefa Estud. Pais Vasco at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Las Gaunas will play against Las Rozas (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pais Vasco will play against Orion-GDKO (#4) in Galdakao and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Orion-GDKO (5-2) against twelfth ranked Leganes (1-6) on Saturday night. Host Orion-GDKO was defeated by Leganes in Galdakao 66-54. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Orion-GDKO. It was a great evening for Patricia Valiente who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Leganes' coach Nacho Garc­a used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Margaret Roundtree responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Leganes left bottom position moving up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Las Rozas. Loser Orion-GDKO still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Leganes will meet at home higher ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orion-GDKO will play against the league's leader Pais Vasco (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
Undefeated leader Universitario de Ferrol delivered the seventh consecutive victory. This time they beat bottom-ranked Arxil Pontevedra (0-7) 51-36. It was a quality performance for Olivia Lett who led the winners and scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Universitario de Ferrol's coach Lino Lopez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Universitario de Ferrol (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Arxil Pontevedra at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Universitario de Ferrol will have a break next round. Arxil Pontevedra will play on the road against Oviedo (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Caceres supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th placed Universidad de Valladolid (3-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Al-Qazeres (4-2). Al-Qazeres smashed Universidad de Valladolid 69-46 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Universidad de Valladolid. Veronica Sanchez fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Al-Qazeres. They moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Ensino. Loser Universidad de Valladolid dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Al-Qazeres will face Pabellon Ourense (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Universidad de Valladolid will play against the league's second-placed Cortegada (#2) in Vilagarcia Arousa.

Other games of round 7 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
In Group A ADBA was defeated by Ensino in Lugo 70-65. Real C.Vigo smashed Oviedo at home 63-36. Aros Leon lost to undefeated Cortegada on the opponent's court 53-71.
In Group B Asefa Estud. managed to outperform Segle XXI in a home game 74-64. Las Rozas recorded a loss to Casablanca on the road 61-53. Tenerife was defeated by Gernika on its own court 62-69.
The best stats of 7th round was 16 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals by Maria Ylenia Manzanares of Cortegada.


Group Group A
Ensino - ADBA 70-65

There was no surprise in Lugo where 10th ranked ADBA (1-5) was defeated by fourth ranked Maquinaria Ensino (4-2) 70-65 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ADBA won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maquinaria Ensino forced 19 ADBA turnovers. Forward Nerea Mendez (180-87) fired 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Mireia Navarrete (184-80) chipped in 16 points. Maquinaria Ensino's coach Javier Munoz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Cameroonian forward Amina Njonkou (185-88, college: Arizona) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and forward Anna Boleda (181-81) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Maquinaria Ensino moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Al-Qazeres. ADBA lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face Aros Leon (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ADBA will play against Real Celta Vigo.

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Real Celta Vigo (3-4) smashed at home 6th ranked Oviedo (3-4) 63-36 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 63-36. Real Celta Vigo dominated on the defensive end, holding Oviedo to just 2 points in second quarter and to 11 points in second half. Real Celta Vigo held Oviedo to an opponent 22.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Real Celta Vigo forced 22 Oviedo turnovers and had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban guard Licet Castillo (175-73) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Naiara Galilea (166-84) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Las Gaunas players scored in double figures. Las Gaunas' coach Luis Birigay allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and center Miriam Foraste (190-91, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Pais Vasco. Las Gaunas maintains sixth place in Group B with 4-3 record, which they share with Asefa Estud. Pais Vasco at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Gernika (2-5) won against on the road 9th ranked Tenerife (2-5) 69-62 on Saturday. Tenerife was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-17 charge of Gernika, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Power forward Nerea Moreno (185-88) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Bulgarian forward Evelina Guneva (183-80, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Laura Bejarano (182-82) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and center Carla Rodriguez (185-93) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Gernika moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with defeated Tenerife. Gernika will face higher ranked Casablanca (#5) in Zaragoza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
