The most exciting game of round 8 in the LFB took place in Burgos. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Jopisa Burgos (3-4) to third ranked Perfumerias Avenida (5-2) 64-62 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-62. Perfumerias Avenida forced 22 Jopisa Burgos turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Le'Coe Willingham (183-81, college: Auburn, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The former international swingman Marta Fernandez (178-81) chipped in 13 points and 4 steals. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Alberto Miranda used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the hosts. Perfumerias Avenida moved-up to second place, which they share with Uni Girona. Jopisa Burgos lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Gran Canaria and UNB Obenasa. Perfumerias Avenida is looking forward to face Conquero (#10) in Huelva in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jopisa Burgos will play on the road against Argon Uni Girona (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.

Ziomara Morrison contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese center Astou Ndour (196-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds for Gran Canaria. Gran Canaria's coach Domingo Diaz gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Undefeated Rivas Ecopolis (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 8 victories in a row. Gran Canaria at the other side dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Burgos and UNB Obenasa. Rivas Ecopolis will play against bottom-ranked Socinsa Bembibre (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria will play against Caja Rural (#4) in Zamora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Aija Putnina responded with 6 points and 6 rebounds. Argon Uni Girona have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Perfumerias. Navarra Pamplona lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Burgos and Gran Canaria. Argon Uni Girona will meet at home Jopisa Burgos (#6) in the next round. Navarra Pamplona will play against Cadi ICG S. in Seu D'urgell and hope to secure a win.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Huelva, where higher ranked Caja Rural (4-4) lost to tenth ranked Conquero (2-5) in a road game 69-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Caja Rural. The winners were led by Joanna Walich who scored that evening 26 points and 5 rebounds. Caja Rural's coach Juan De Mena rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Conquero moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Cadi ICG S. Caja Rural at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Conquero's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Caja Rural will play at home against Gran Canaria in Las Palmas.

In the last game of round 8 Hondar.-Irun defeated Cadi ICG S. in Hondarribia 77-71.
