There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Universitario de Ferrol (7-1) in Caceres on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked Al-Qazeres (5-3) 77-51. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Universitario de Ferrol. The game without a history. Al-Qazeres led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Universitario de Ferrol's 32. Al-Qazeres forced 19 Universitario de Ferrol turnovers. American Ndidi Madu (185-PF, college: Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Samba Ndeye chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was Jamaican center Tajay Ashmeade (190-89, college: Seton Hall) with 8 points and 17 rebounds. Universitario de Ferrol's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Al-Qazeres moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Ensino. Universitario de Ferrol at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Al-Qazeres is looking forward to face Oviedo (#5) on the road in the next round. Universitario de Ferrol will play against the league's leader Cortegada in Vilagarcia Arousa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Eighth-ranked Pabellon Ourense (3-5) gave a tough game to leader Cortegada (8-0) in Vilagarcia Arousa. Cortegada managed to secure only one-point victory 53-52. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pabellon Ourense. Guard Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-83) nailed 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and Dita Liepkalne accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for Pabellon Ourense in the defeat. Undefeated Cortegada have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A with 8-0 record. Pabellon Ourense at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Valladolid. Cortegada will play against league's second-placed Universitario de Ferrol on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pabellon Ourense will play against Maquinaria Ensino (#3) in Lugo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Madrid between ASEFA Estudiantes and Real Canoe. Seventh ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (5-4) got a very close home victory over 3rd placed Real Canoe (6-3). ASEFA Estudiantes managed to escape with a 1-point win 53-52 on Saturday evening. ASEFA Estudiantes moved-up to sixth place in Group B. Loser Real Canoe dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. ASEFA Estudiantes will meet at home league's leader Pais Vasco in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Real Canoe will play against Tenerife and hope to secure a win.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Fundal Alcobendas (6-3) against fifth ranked Casablanca (6-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Fundal Alcobendas was crushed by Casablanca in Zaragoza 64-39. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fundal Alcobendas. Casablanca moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Fundal Alcobendas. Casablanca's next round opponent will be Segle XXI (#10) in Barcelona and are hoping to win another game. Fundal Alcobendas will play at home against Las Gaunas (#8) in Logrono.
LF2 top team - Pais Vasco (7-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Leganes (2-7) 79-39. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leganes. Pais Vasco maintains first place in Group B with 7-2 record. Loser Leganes keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Pais Vasco will face ASEFA Estudiantes (#6) in Madrid in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Leganes will play on the road against Las Rozas (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 9:
In Group A Valladolid was destroyed by Ensino on the opponent's court 74-43. Real C.Vigo managed to outperform Arxil Pontev. in a home game 68-67. Aros Leon managed to beat ADBA on the road 87-78.
In Group B Orion-GDKO crushed Las Rozas on its own court 74-55. Gernika beat Las Gaunas in a road game 54-51. Tenerife won against Segle XXI at home 62-55.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 24 points and 12 rebounds by Mireia Navarrete of Ensino.

Group A
Ensino - Valladolid 74-43

Very expected game in Lugo where 8th ranked Universidad de Valladolid (3-5) was crushed by fourth ranked Maquinaria Ensino (5-3) 74-43 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Maquinaria Ensino. Universidad de Valladolid was better in second period 12-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maquinaria Ensino dominated on the defensive end, holding Universidad de Valladolid to just 5 points in first quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Universidad de Valladolid's 18. They outrebounded Universidad de Valladolid 52-23 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international forward Mireia Navarrete (184-80) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Nerea Mendez (180-87) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was center Maria Parro (183-85) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and guard Paula Vicente (175-96) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maquinaria Ensino moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Al-Qazeres. Universidad de Valladolid lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with five games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face Pabellon Ourense (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Universidad de Valladolid will play against ADBA in Aviles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There was a minor upset in Logrono where 6th ranked Las Gaunas (4-5) was edged by ninth ranked Gernika (4-5) 54-51 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-9. But Las Gaunas won second period 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gernika looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Paraguayan guard Tamara Insfran (175-89, college: Cumberland) stepped up and scored 12 points for the winners and point guard Izaskun Garcia (168-92) chipped in 13 points. The best for the losing side was forward Paula Estebas (175-93) with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Cuban guard Licet Castillo (175-73) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Gernika. They moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with defeated Las Gaunas. Gernika will face higher ranked Orion-GDKO (#4) in Galdakao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Tenerife (3-6) won against at home higher ranked Segle XXI (3-6) 62-55 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 22-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Point guard Laura Munoz (166-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 assists for the winners and power forward Laura Bejarano (182-82) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was center Judith Sole (190-95) with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Belen Arrojo (-95) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Segle XXI's coach Ramon Jordana rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tenerife moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with defeated Segle XXI. Segle XXI lost their fourth game in a row. Tenerife will face higher ranked Real Canoe (#3) in Madrid in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

LF2 top team - Pais Vasco (7-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Leganes (2-7) 79-39. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leganes. Pais Vasco maintains first place in Group B with 7-2 record. Loser Leganes keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Pais Vasco will face ASEFA Estudiantes (#6) in Madrid in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Leganes will play on the road against Las Rozas (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

A very close game took place in Madrid between ASEFA Estudiantes and Real Canoe. Seventh ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (5-4) got a very close home victory over 3rd placed Real Canoe (6-3). ASEFA Estudiantes managed to escape with a 1-point win 53-52 on Saturday evening. ASEFA Estudiantes moved-up to sixth place in Group B. Loser Real Canoe dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. ASEFA Estudiantes will meet at home league's leader Pais Vasco in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Real Canoe will play against Tenerife and hope to secure a win.
