The game in Las Palmas was quite interesting. Third ranked Perfumerias Avenida (7-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Gran Canaria (3-6). Perfumerias Avenida defeated Gran Canaria 92-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 17-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-76. Perfumerias Avenida made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. American center Le'Coe Willingham (183-81, college: Auburn, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Isabel Sanchez (179-76, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Alberto Miranda used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side international power forward Vanessa Ble (190-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Perfumerias Avenida have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Uni Girona. Gran Canaria lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Cadi ICG S.. Perfumerias Avenida is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Socinsa Bembibre (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria will play against Argon Uni Girona and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
Sixth ranked Jopisa Burgos (4-5) crushed at home 8th ranked Cadi ICG S. (3-6) by 18 points 77-59, which is the biggest margin this round. American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) notched 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Berta Chumillas supported her with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 10 points by Czech point guard Katerina Bartonova (174-90) did not help to save the game for Cadi ICG S.. Cadi ICG S.'s coach Andreu Bou rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Jopisa Burgos moved-up to fifth place, which they share with UNB Obenasa and Hondar.-Irun. Cadi ICG S. at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Gran Canaria. Jopisa Burgos will play against Navarra Pamplona (#5) on the road in the next round. Cadi ICG S. will play against Conquero in Huelva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 10: UNB Obenasa won against Hondar.-Irun on the opponent's court 56-49. Bottom-ranked Bembibre unfortunately lost to Caja Rural in a home game 62-77. Uni Girona managed to beat Conquero on the road 83-74.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 22 points and 13 rebounds by Jacinta Monroe of Uni Girona.



Hondar.-Irun - UNB Obenasa 49-56

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Hondarribia-Irun (4-5) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Navarra Pamplona (4-5) 56-49. Navarra Pamplona moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hondar.-Irun and Burgos. Navarra Pamplona will play against Jopisa Burgos (#7) at home in the next round. Hondarribia-Irun will play against the league's leader Rivas Ecopolis and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Bembibre - Caja Rural 62-77

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Caja Rural (6-4) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Socinsa Bembibre (1-8) 77-62. The game without a history. Caja Rural led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Finnish center Taru Tuukkanen (190-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) notched 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Amy Denson (186-84, college: Arizona St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) supported her with 12 points. Caja Rural's coach Juan De Mena allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by American center LaNedra Brown (188-81, college: Seton Hall) did not help to save the game for Socinsa Bembibre. point guard Cristina Lopez (170-80) added 9 points and 4 assists for lost side. Newly promoted Caja Rural maintains fourth position with 6-4 record. Socinsa Bembibre lost fourth consecutive game. Socinsa Bembibre at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Caja Rural will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Socinsa Bembibre will play on the road against the league's second-placed Perfumerias Avenida (#2) in Salamanca to get more than just one victory in their record.

Not a big story in a game in Huelva where 10th ranked Conquero (2-7) was defeated by third ranked Argon Uni Girona (7-2) 83-74. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-13. But Conquero won second period 30-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Argon Uni Girona had a 24-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Jacinta Monroe (193-88, college: Florida St.) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import forward Allison Feaster-Strong (181-76, college: Harvard, agency: Josep and Nicolas) supported her with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Five Argon Uni Girona players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by Polish power forward Joanna Walich (183-81) did not help to save the game for Conquero. Dutch guard Tanya Broering (178-84) added 13 points and 4 assists for lost side. Argon Uni Girona have an impressive five-game winning streak. Center Daira Varas (193-C-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for Distrito Olimpico, receiving a Eurobasket.com LF2 Player of the Week award for round 10. The 27-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds, while her team edged out Picken Claret (#10, 4-5) 70-67.
