There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most exciting game of round 10 in the LF2 took place in Alcobendas. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Las Gaunas (4-6) to fifth ranked Fundal Alcobendas (7-3) 66-63 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 16-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Irene Salgado (184-F-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 23 points and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Leslie Knight (184-86) chipped in 15 points and 12 rebounds. Cuban guard Licet Castillo (175-73) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Fundal Alcobendas moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Real Canoe and Casablanca. Las Gaunas lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. Fundal Alcobendas is looking forward to face Orion-GDKO (#5) in Galdakao in the next round. Las Gaunas will play at home against Segle XXI in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Maquinaria Ensino (5-4) against ninth ranked Pabellon Ourense (4-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Maquinaria Ensino was defeated by Pabellon Ourense in a tough game in Ourense 60-69. Pabellon Ourense moved-up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with Oviedo and Valladolid. Maquinaria Ensino at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Aros Leon. Pabellon Ourense will play against ADBA (#10) in Aviles in the next round. Maquinaria Ensino will play at home against the league's second-placed Universitario de Ferrol (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ferrol. Top-ranked Cortegada faced their biggest opponent Universitario de Ferrol. Guests from Vilagarcia Arousa (9-0) defeated host Universitario de Ferrol (7-2) 74-62. Maria Ylenia Manzanares had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 8 steals to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Raquel Asensio responded with 24 points. Universitario de Ferrol's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated Cortegada have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 9-0 record. Loser Universitario de Ferrol keeps the second place with two games lost. Cortegada will meet at home Oviedo (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Universitario de Ferrol will play against Maquinaria Ensino (#5) in Lugo and hope to secure a win.
We should not miss the game where seventh ranked Gernika (5-5) against one of their biggest challengers Orion-GDKO (6-4) where Gernika won at home by four points 61-57. Tynikki Crook notched 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort. Gernika's coach Mario Lopez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Gernika have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Asefa Estud. Orion-GDKO at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Gernika's next round opponent will be Leganes (#11) on the road where they are favorite. Orion-GDKO will play against Fundal Alcobendas (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Leader Pais Vasco delivered the eighth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (5-5) 82-55 in Madrid. Maria Gomez fired 27 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. ASEFA Estudiantes' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Pais Vasco have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 8-2 record. Loser ASEFA Estudiantes keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Pais Vasco will face Las Rozas (#12) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. ASEFA Estudiantes will play against Tenerife (#9).

Rest of the games of round 10 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
In Group A Al-Qazeres crushed Oviedo in Caceres 70-39. Valladolid smashed ADBA at home 67-46. Aros Leon won against Real C.Vigo on the opponent's court 60-50.
In Group B Real Canoe outscored Tenerife in a home game 71-48. Casablanca managed to beat Segle XXI on the road 63-57. Las Rozas was defeated by Leganes on its own court 55-64.

Group A
Oviedo - Al-Qazeres 39-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Oviedo's (4-5) home loss to fourth ranked Al-Qazeres (6-3) 39-70 on Saturday. The game without a history. Al-Qazeres led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Oviedo to just 4 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Oviedo 49-21 including a 31-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Alejandra De La De La Fuente (192-88) fired 7 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Veronica Sanchez (179-85) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Sara Fernandez Alvarez (-87) produced 7 points and 6 rebounds and Lara Fernandez (-87) added 6 points respectively for lost side. Oviedo's coach Ruben Alonso gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Al-Qazeres moved-up to third place in Group A. Loser Oviedo dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Al-Qazeres will face Arxil Pontevedra (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oviedo will play against the league's leader Cortegada (#1) in Vilagarcia Arousa.

ADBA was better in fourth quarter 10-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Universidad de Valladolid held ADBA to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Universidad de Valladolid forced 21 ADBA turnovers and outrebounded them 51-33 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Universidad de Valladolid made 7 blocks. Very predictable result in Madrid where third ranked Real Canoe (7-3) outscored 9th ranked Tenerife (3-7) 71-48 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Canoe. Tenerife was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Canoe dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Tenerife's 22. Real Canoe forced 27 Tenerife turnovers. Center Daira Varas (193-89) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Sheila Mangada (183-85) chipped in 12 points. Real Canoe's coach Pablo Roldan felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Laura Bejarano (182-82) produced 4 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Laura Munoz (166-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Real Canoe moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Casablanca and Alcobendas. Loser Tenerife keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Segle XXI won third quarter 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Casablanca won last quarter 17-13. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Segle XXI's 26. Center Marta Garcia (193-86) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Carolina Esparcia (178-95) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Casablanca players scored in double figures. point guard Angela Salvadores (175-97) produced 17 points and center Judith Sole (190-95) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Casablanca maintains second position in Group B with 7-3 record behind leader Pais Vasco, which they share with Real Canoe and Alcobendas. Segle XXI lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. Casablanca will face Real Canoe (#3) in Madrid in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Alcobendas - Las Gaunas 66-63

The most exciting game of round 10 in the LF2 took place in Alcobendas. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Las Gaunas (4-6) to fifth ranked Fundal Alcobendas (7-3) 66-63 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 16-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Irene Salgado (184-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 23 points and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Leslie Knight (184-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Cuban guard Licet Castillo (175-73) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and Miriam Goyache added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Fundal Alcobendas moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Real Canoe and Casablanca. Las Gaunas lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. Fundal Alcobendas is looking forward to face Orion-GDKO (#5) in Galdakao in the next round. Las Gaunas will play at home against Segle XXI in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Gernika - Orion-GDKO 61-57

We should not miss the game where seventh ranked Gernika (5-5) against one of their biggest challengers Orion-GDKO (6-4) where Gernika won at home by four points 61-57. It looked good early as Orion-GDKO took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gernika had a 18-5 second period charge getting the lead and Orion-GDKO was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-61. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Orion-GDKO to just 5 points in second quarter and to 14 points in first half. Gernika shot 18 for 26 from the free-throw line, while Orion-GDKO only scored two points from the stripe. American power forward Tynikki Crook (185-89, college: Marshall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) notched 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and point guard Izaskun Garcia (168-92) supported her with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Gernika's coach Mario Lopez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 19 points by Portuguese guard Carla Freitas (170-80) did not help to save the game for Orion-GDKO. American forward Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) added 11 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Gernika have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Asefa Estud. Orion-GDKO at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Gernika's next round opponent will be Leganes (#11) on the road where they are favorite. Orion-GDKO will play against Fundal Alcobendas (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Las Rozas - Leganes 55-64

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Leganes and 11th ranked Las Rozas had identical 2-7 record. But Las Rozas was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Leganes 64-55 on Saturday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-11. But Las Rozas won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Center Laura San Bartolome (187-79) fired 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Paula Justel (187-92) chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds. Center Marta Claret (185-92) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and Beatriz Gallardo (178-83) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Las Rozas' coach Jose Vicente tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Leganes (3-7) moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with Tenerife and Segle XXI. Loser Las Rozas dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Leganes will face higher ranked Gernika (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Las Rozas will play against the league's leader Pais Vasco (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Pais Vasco will face Las Rozas (#12) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. ASEFA Estudiantes will play against Tenerife (#9).
