LEB Silver is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 11 rounds left.

The most exciting game of round 11 in the LEB Silver took place in Azpeitia. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Lan Mobel ISB (5-5) to seventh ranked Aurteneche M. (5-5) 64-61 in the game for the fifth place. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 20-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Aurteneche M. outrebounded Lan Mobel ISB 40-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Senegalese center Ilimane Diop (209-C-95) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Cuban forward Georvys Elias (199-81) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Antonio Pantin (203-88) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Lan Mobel ISB's coach Iurgi Caminos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aurteneche M. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lan Mobel ISB and Avila. Lan Mobel ISB lost third consecutive game. Aurteneche M. is looking forward to face Castello (#10) in Castellon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lan Mobel ISB will play at home against Fontedoso Carrefour (#6) in Avila and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Clinicas Rincon (6-4) against fifth ranked Prat Juventud (6-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Clinicas Rincon was defeated by Prat Juventud in a tough game in Prat 66-70. Guard Ferran Bassas (185-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points and 6 assists. Alex Ros contributed with 10 points for the winners. Center Malick Fall (210-92) answered with 9 points and 11 rebounds for Clinicas Rincon. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Prat Juventud have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Clinicas Rincon. Prat Juventud will play against Palma (#8) in S'Arenal in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Clinicas Rincon will play on the road against Cafes Aitona (#9) in San Sebastian and hopes to get back on the winning track.

CB Guadalajara's coach Angel Cepeda used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jon Aramburu responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. The victory was the third consecutive win for CB Guadalajara. Newly promoted CB Guadalajara maintains first place with 8-2 record. Cafes Aitona at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Palma. CB Guadalajara will meet at home bottom-ranked La Palma (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cafes Aitona will play against Clinicas Rincon in Malaga and hope to secure a win.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Castellon. Local Castello (3-7) beat 11th ranked La Palma (2-8) 85-70. It was a quality performance for David Ortega who led the winners and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). La Palma's coach Pablo Melo tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Castello maintains tenth place with 3-7 record. La Palma at the other side stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Castello's next round opponent will be higher ranked Aurteneche M. (#5) in Vitoria-Gasteiz and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. La Palma will play on the road against the league's leader CB Guadalajara (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.

In the last game of round 11 Avila was defeated by Oviedo CB in a road game 75-61.
The best stats of 11th round was 23 points and 12 rebounds by Will Hanley of Oviedo CB.


Guadalajara - Cafes Aitona 71-59

Leader CB Guadalajara delivered the eighth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Cafes Aitona (4-6) 71-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cafes Aitona. The game was mostly controlled by CB Guadalajara. Cafes Aitona managed to win second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for center Jose Balmon (204-81) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. point guard Sergio Llorente (188-90) helped adding 13 points and 5 assists. Four CB Guadalajara players scored in double figures. CB Guadalajara's coach Angel Cepeda used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Castello - La Palma 85-70

The game with biggest result difference took place in Castellon. Local Castello (3-7) beat 11th ranked La Palma (2-8) 85-70. The game was mostly controlled by Castello. La Palma was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Castello especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a quality performance for power forward David Ortega (199-84) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Center Victor Hidalgo (204-86) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winning side. Senegalese forward Mouhamed Barro (204-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Mali power forward Bakary Konate (208-93) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for La Palma in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. La Palma's coach Pablo Melo tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. There was no surprise when 6th ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (5-5) was defeated on the road by second ranked Oviedo CB (7-3) 75-61. Fontedoso Carrefour was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 37-22 second half run of Oviedo CB. Oviedo CB dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Fontedoso Carrefour's 24. They outrebounded Fontedoso Carrefour 43-29 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (200-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. point guard Francisco Cardenas (177-90) accounted for 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Oviedo CB players scored in double figures. Naturalized Senegalese center Moussa Diagne (210-94) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Pablo Fernandez (188-93) added 14 points respectively for Fontedoso Carrefour in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Oviedo CB. Oviedo CB maintains second place with 7-3 record behind leader Guadalajara. Fontedoso Carrefour at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Oviedo CB will have a break next round. Fontedoso Carrefour will play on the road against Lan Mobel ISB (#7) in Azpeitia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
