Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-G-83) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Cortegada and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com LF2 Player of the Week award for round 10. The 29-year old guard had a double-double of 23 points and eleven rebounds, while her team beat Ferrol (#2, 7-2) 74-62. It allowed Cortegada to consolidate first place in the Spanish LF2. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Cortegada still have not lost a single game, getting all 9 victories. It's Manzanares' second year at Cortegada and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Manzanares has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 8.9rpg), assists (2nd best: 4.3apg) and averages solid 4.6spg and 55.6% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old point guard Maria Gomez (170-PG-82) of league's best team Universidad del Pais Vasco San Sebastian. Gomez impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course she lead Pais Vasco to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Asefa Estud. (#6, 5-5) 82-55. Of course Pais Vasco still keep Group B's top spot. Her team lost just two games this season, while they won 8 matches. Gomez is one of the most experienced players at Pais Vasco and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 6.6rpg and 5.4apg.
The third best performed player last round was Maria Bolonio (180-F/G-85) of Ourense P. (#8). Bolonio scored 22 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Ourense P., leading her team to a 69-60 win against the higher-ranked Ensino (#5, 5-4). The chances of Ourense P. ranking at the top of Group A, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Bolonio could help Ourense P. to bring them higher in the standings. Bolonio has a great season in Spain. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.6ppg (5th best).

Spain wins Group B of EuroBasket 2013 with a perfect 3-0 record. The Spanish side overcame Sweden 73:49 in the last game of the Qualifying Stage as both teams advanced to the Second Stage.

Spain wins Group B of EuroBasket 2013 with a perfect 3-0 record. The Spanish side overcame Sweden 73:49 in the last game of the Qualifying Stage as both teams advanced to the Second Stage. The latter won the third period 19-10 and finished the game with massive 24-9 surge. Sancho Lyttle (192-C-83, college: Houston) top-scored for the winners with 17 points and 17 rebounds, while Alba Torrens (188-F-89) nailed 14. Amaya Valdemoro (183-F-76, agency: Josep and Nicolas) delivered 10 and Marta Xargay Casademont (181-PG-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 8. Frida Eldebrink (174-G-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) was the only player for Sweden to score in double figures as she brought 10 points. Elin Eldebrink (174-G-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had 8, while Louice Halvarsson (189-C-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) produced 7.

Giorgia Sottana capped the third term with a jumper to cut the deficit at 13-point mark. Giorgia Sottana and Fassina allowed Italy to get within 7 points 51:58 with under five minutes remaining. Sancho Lyttle (192-C-83, college: Houston) hit a pair of free throws and Amaya Valdemoro (183-F-76, agency: Josep and Nicolas) hit a triple as Spain got away with a comfortable win. Tintos de Toro Caja Rural Zamora brings in Marina Delgado (174-PG-92) for the next season. The 21-year old point guard Marina Delgado will come from Real Club Celta Vigo Urban.
In 14 LFB games she averaged 9.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.8apg and 1.9spg last season. Delgado also spent pre-season at Cadi ICG Software (previous name Cadi ICG S.) earlier that year.
