LEB Gold is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 13 rounds left.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of River Andorra (11-2) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Ford Burgos (11-2) 86-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of River Andorra. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 10-2 record before this meeting. The game was mostly controlled by Ford Burgos. River Andorra managed to win fourth quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ford Burgos made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Ford Burgos had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Ford Burgos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lucas Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Josep Ortega (201-84) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Naturalized Russian power forward Dmitry Flis (203-84) answered with 14 points for River Andorra. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ford Burgos have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Ford Burgos keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Andorra. Ford Burgos is looking forward to face Lleida Basquet (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. River Andorra will play against Lobe Huesca (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Meridiano Alicante (8-5) against twelfth ranked Caceres Basket (5-8) on Friday night. Visiting Meridiano Alicante was edged by Caceres Basket in a tough game in Caceres 64-65. American forward Antonio Pena (203-86, college: Villanova) stepped up and scored 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Roberto Morentin chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Taylor Coppenrath (205-81, college: Vermont) responded with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Caceres Basket moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with FCB Regal II. Meridiano Alicante at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Palencia. Caceres Basket will play against Melilla Baloncesto (#13) at home in the next round. Meridiano Alicante will play against CB Clavijo (#7) in Logrono and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Logrono was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Leche Rio Breogan (7-6) played at the court of seventh ranked CB Clavijo (6-7). CB Clavijo managed to secure a 8-point victory 77-69 on Friday. Alberto Ruiz de Galarreta nailed 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Anthony Winchester came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds for Leche Rio Breogan in the defeat. Leche Rio Breogan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. CB Clavijo moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Leche Rio Breogan keeps the fifth position with six games lost. CB Clavijo will meet at home higher ranked Meridiano Alicante (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leche Rio Breogan will play against FCB Regal II in Barcelona and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Pamplona. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 14th ranked Ourense (3-10) to eighth ranked Planasa NV (6-7) 85-83 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Ondrej Starosta fired 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Planasa NV moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Ourense stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Planasa NV's next round opponent will be Leyma Basquet (#10) in Coruna. Ourense will play on the road against Palencia Baloncesto (#4).

Other games in round 13 were not that significant. Forca Lleida beat Coruna on the road 80-73. Palencia won against Melilla on its own court 82-73. Lobe Huesca managed to outperform FCB Regal II in a road game 82-77.
The most impressive performance of 13th round was 38 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds by Jamar Samuels of Lobe Huesca.

Coruna - Forca Lleida 73-80
