LFB is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 11 rounds left.

The game between third ranked Argon Uni Girona (7-3) and ninth ranked Gran Canaria (4-6) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Argon Uni Girona was edged by Gran Canaria in a tough game in Girona 59-61. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Argon Uni Girona. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-12. But Argon Uni Girona won second period 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was international power forward Vanessa Ble (190-91) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. Leticia Romero (176-95) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American forward Allison Feaster-Strong (181-76, college: Harvard, agency: Josep and Nicolas) produced 19 points for the hosts. Gran Canaria moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Argon Uni Girona at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Gran Canaria is looking forward to face Cadi ICG S. (#9) in Seu D'urgell in the next round. Argon Uni Girona will play at home against Socinsa Bembibre (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
Undefeated leader Rivas Ecopolis delivered the tenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Hondarribia-Irun (4-6) 77-51. American center Aneika Henry (193-86, college: Florida) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Olexandra Kurasova contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American center Mandisa Stevenson (191-82, college: Auburn) answered with 10 points and 8 rebounds for Hondarribia-Irun. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Rivas Ecopolis (10-0) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. Hondarribia-Irun at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Rivas Ecopolis will play against Caja Rural (#4) in Zamora in the next round. Hondarribia-Irun will play on the road against Jopisa Burgos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Salamanca. Local Perfumerias Avenida (8-2) outscored 11th ranked Socinsa Bembibre (1-9) 85-58 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Marta Fernandez who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Victor Antonio Lapena felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. LaNedra Brown responded with 30 points and 9 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Perfumerias Avenida. They maintain second place with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Rivas Ecopolis. Socinsa Bembibre lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Perfumerias Avenida will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Socinsa Bembibre will play against Argon Uni Girona (#3).

In the last two games of round 11 Burgos was defeated by UNB Obenasa in Pamplona 65-60. Cadi ICG S. beat Conquero at home 78-70.



UNB Obenasa - Burgos 65-60

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Navarra Pamplona and 7th ranked Jopisa Burgos had identical 4-5 record. This time Navarra Pamplona used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Burgos 65-60 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-60. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Laura Herrera (190-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Maria Asurmendi (168-86) helped adding 10 points and 7 assists. Four Navarra Pamplona players scored in double figures. American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and center Aitana Cuevas (187-86) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Navarra Pamplona maintains fifth place with 5-5 record. Newly promoted Jopisa Burgos dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Navarra Pamplona will meet at home Conquero (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Jopisa Burgos will play against Hondarribia-Irun (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Cadi ICG S.'s (4-6) home victory over 10th ranked Conquero (2-8) 78-70 on Saturday. Conquero trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 22-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-78 at the end of the game. Cadi ICG S. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Conquero's 30 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Conquero 33-15 including a 23-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Senegalese power forward Astou Traore (182-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American forward Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Itziar German (184-86) scored 9 points. Cadi ICG S. moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Conquero lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with eight games lost.
