Bojan
Dubljevic
Gescrap BB (#5) forced the game against Valencia Basket (#3) into an overtime, but lost by two points 111-113 on Sunday night. Worth to mention a great performance of Bojan Dubljevic who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!). Valencia Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-4 record having just three points less than leader Real Madrid, which they share with G.Canaria 2014. Gescrap BB at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Valencia Basket will face bottom-ranked Lagun Aro GBC (#18) in San Sebastian in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gescrap BB will play at home against CB Canarias (#12) in Tenerife.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 16: FIATC Joventut lost to Real Madrid on the opponent's court 77-88. FCB Regal outscored Lagun Aro GBC in a home game 98-50. Caja Laboral managed to beat Asefa Estudian. on the road 72-68. G.Canaria 2014 defeated Unicaja on its own court 70-63. Blancos de R. was smashed by Blusens M. in Santoago de Comp 89-56. Cajasol won against Assignia M. at home 67-60. Mad-Croc unfortunately lost to CAI Zaragoza on the opponent's court 74-79. CB Canarias managed to beat UCAM Murcia in a home game 80-68.

Real Madrid - FIATC Joventut 88-77

Very expected game when 11th ranked FIATC Joventut (7-9) was defeated on the road by first ranked Real Madrid (15-1) 88-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. FIATC Joventut was better in third quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. FIATC Joventut was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international Rudy Fernandez (198-85) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and the former international point guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) who added 13 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Tony Gaffney (204-84, college: Massachusetts) responded with 13 points and American-Georgian point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova) scored 12 points. Five Real Madrid and four FIATC Joventut players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Madrid maintains first position with 15-1 record. FIATC Joventut at the other side keeps the eleventh place with nine games lost. Real Madrid will face G.Canaria 2014 (#4) in Las Palmas in the next round. FIATC Joventut will play at home against Blusens Monbus (#7) in Santoago de Comp.

FCB Regal - Lagun Aro GBC 98-50

Very predictable result when ninth ranked Regal FC Barcelona (9-7) smashed at home bottom-ranked Lagun Aro GBC (2-14) 98-50 on Sunday. The game without a history. Regal FC Barcelona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter.
