Nacho Martin
Nacho Martin (205-F-83) put on an amazing game in the last round for Blancos de R. and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 22 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat CAI Zaragoza (#6, 10-7) in overtime 93-88. Blancos de R. is placed at 13th position in Spanish ACB. Blancos de R. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-10 record. In the team's last game Martin had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Blancos de R., through which he has constantly improved. Martin has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 6.1rpg) and averages solid 58.3% FGP and 41.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old Polish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-F/C-85) of second-ranked Caja Laboral. Lampe impressed basketball fans with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Caja Laboral to edge the lower-ranked Assignia M. (#18, 2-15) in overtime by 6 points 101-95. Caja Laboral's second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just three games this season, while they won 14 matches. Lampe is well-known by Caja Laboral fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Blancos de R.'s star - American Alex Renfroe (191-PG-86). Renfroe showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in the last round. He was another key player of Blancos de R., helping his team with a 93-88overtime win against the higher-ranked CAI Zaragoza (#6, 10-7). The chances of Blancos de R. ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Renfroe could help Blancos de R. to bring them higher in the standings. Renfroe has a great season in Spain. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.5apg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Sergio Rodriguez (191-PG-86) of Real Madrid - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Tony Gaffney (204-F-84) of FIATC Joventut - 28 points and 4 rebounds
6. Axel Hervelle (205-F-83) of Gescrap BB - 13 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Corey Fisher (186-PG-88) of FIATC Joventut - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists
8. Joe Ragland (182-G-89) of UCAM Murcia - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Othello Hunter (203-F-86) of Blancos de R. - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Carl English (192-G-81) of Asefa Estudian. - 17 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
