Here is the weekly review of the top performing Spanish players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Jose Manuel Calderon (192-81, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Calderon could not help the Toronto Raptors (14-24) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Toronto Raptors lost 96-107 on the road to the Milwaukee Bucks. Calderon scored 21 points and added 8 passes in 31 minutes on the court. It's Calderon's eighth season with the team. He is currently seventh on the list of best passers with 7.7apg. This year Calderon's other stats are: 10.7ppg, 2.5rpg, 2FGP: 48.1%, 3FGP: 44.1% and FT: 88.9% in the 38 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Spanish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Marc Gasol (216-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA). Gasol led Memphis Grizzlies to a victory against the Golden State Warriors (23-13) 94-87 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. He recorded 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The Memphis Grizzlies have a solid 24-12 record this season. Gasol is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Grizzlies' roster. Gasol has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 13.3ppg, 7.6rpg, 3.8apg, 1.9bpg, 2FGP: 48.0% and FT: 88.5%. Gasol is in the roster of the Spanish senior national team.

   #3. The Spanish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Serge Ibaka (208-89, currently plays in NBA). Ibaka contributed to an easy victory against the Los Angeles Lakers (17-21) 116-101 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 24 minutes. The Oklahoma City Thunder has quite an impressive 30-8 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Ibaka has very impressive stats this year: 14.3ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.8bpg, 2FGP: 58.2%(210-361), 3FGP: 31.8% and FT: 79.3% in the 36 games. He has a dual citizenship: Congolese and Spanish. Ex-C.B. L'Hospitalet player is also a member of the Spanish senior national team.

   #4. Guard Ricky Rubio (192-90, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Minnesota Timberwolves (16-19) in their game against the Dallas Mavericks (16-23) in the NBA. Rubio scored 6 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 6 assists. The Minnesota Timberwolves were defeated 113-98 in Dallas by the Mavericks. It was Timberwolves' fourth consecutive loss in a row. Rubio's overall stats this season are: 3.8ppg, 1.8rpg, 4.6apg and 1.4spg. He used to play for the Spanish national team back in 2011.

He scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 20 minutes. The eighth-placed ALBA Berlin lost 62-71 in Istanbul to the higher-ranked (#3) Anadolu Efes in the group E of Euroleague. So far ALBA Berlin lost all three games in the Top 16. This year Miralles' total stats are: 6.5ppg and 4.3rpg in the 13 games. He is a former international player as he played for the Spanish senior team eight years ago.

Former U18 international point guard Miguel Ortega (188-91, currently plays in Denmark) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Naestved (10-8) crushing them 96-76 in the Danish Ligaen last Wednesday. Ortega recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and making 13 passes. He also added 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Randers Cimbria Basketball (7-10) is placed sixth in the Ligaen. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Ortega is currently first on the list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 14.1ppg, 3.8rpg, 7.4apg and 1.8spg. Ortega used to play for the Spanish U18 national team four years ago.

   #8. Point guard Daniel Munoz (183-87, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to American's victory against the Colgate University (0-1) 72-63 in the NCAA on Saturday night. He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The The American University has 1-0 conference record this season. Munoz has been at the team for four years. Munoz has relatively good stats this year: 14.1ppg, 3.8rpg, 7.4apg and 1.8spg. He used to play for the Spanish U17 national team back in 2003.


The list of other players, who all have Spanish passport but never been selected to any of Spanish national teams:

   #1. Experienced Luis Scola (206-F/C-80, currently plays in NBA) led Phoenix Suns to a victory over the Chicago Bulls (21-15) 97-81 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Scola recorded 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 28 minutes. The Phoenix Suns have not so impressive 13-27 record this season. Scola has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 13.0ppg, 6.4rpg and 2.4apg in the 40 games he played so far. Scola has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Spanish.

   #2. Tiago Splitter (211-C/F-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a 3-point San Antonio Spurs' victory against the Los Angeles Lakers (17-21) 108-105 in the NBA last Wednesday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting the same number of rebounds. The San Antonio Spurs have a solid 29-11 record this season. Splitter has relatively good stats this year: 9.6ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.4apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Spanish.

   #3. Gustavo Barrera (194-G-85, currently plays in Uruguay) was the major contributor in Hebraica's victory against the 13th-ranked Atletico Welcome (10-19) 82-75 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB last Tuesday. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and making 11 passes. Barrera also added 6 rebounds and 4 steals in 36 minutes. Hebraica Macabi (20-10) is placed fifth in Capital group. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Barrera is currently first on the list of best passers and also on the list of most steals (second place). He has very reliable stats this year: 13.7ppg, 4.1rpg, 7.4apg and 2.0spg in the 29 games. Barrera has both Spanish and Uruguayan nationalities.

   #4. Caio Silveira (211-C-87, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Winner/Limeira (6-8) 98-81 in the Brazilian NBB on Saturday night. He scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (6-0) is placed first in the NBB. So far his team won all six games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Silveira has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg and 5.4rpg. He also holds two passports: Spanish and Brazilian.

   #5. Jose Manuel Coego (204-C/F-78, currently plays in Portugal) was the main contributor in a 3-point CAB Madeira's victory against the league outsider Alges (2-10) 72-69 in the Portuguese LPB on Sunday night. Coego was MVP of the game. He scored 15 points, had 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line) in 29 minutes. CAB Madeira (9-2) is placed second in the LPB. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. It's Coego's first season with the team. Coego has relatively good stats this year: 10.1ppg and 5.1rpg in the 11 games.

   #6. Arnette Hallman (199-F-88, currently plays in Portugal), who plays in the Portuguese LPB could not help Academica (8-3) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Academica was defeated 76-70 at home by the one of league's weakest teams Galitos-Tley (#10). Hallman recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 13 rebounds. Hallman is currently first on the league's list of best rebounders. This season he has very high stats. Hallman averages: 15.2ppg, 12.5rpg, 2.7apg and 1.5spg. He is a naturalized American. Hallman used to play for Estudiantes de Lugo in Spanish league.

   #7. Ignacio Ordin (183-PG-78, currently plays in France) contributed to Pau-Lacq-Orthez's victory against the tenth-ranked Charleville-Mezieres 85-79 in the French ProB (second division) on Friday night. Ordin scored 19 points and added 3 passes. His total stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 1.9rpg and 2.9apg.

   #8. Sergi Coll (204-F/C-82, currently plays in Portugal) contributed to a 1-point Ovarense's victory against the league outsider Alges 70-69 in the Portuguese LPB in Saturday night's game. Coll scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 33 minutes. He has very impressive stats this year: 15.2ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1spg in the 11 games.

   #9. Sidnei De Santana (215-C-83, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Suzano crushing them 85-44 in the Brazilian NBB last Thursday. De Santana recorded 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. His total stats this season are: 3.9ppg and 2.1rpg. De Santana holds both Spanish and Brazilian passports.

   #10. Carlos Cherry (184-PG-79, agency: Global Sports Plaza, currently plays in France) contributed to a Quimper UJAP's victory against the 11th-ranked Angers BC 49 67-58 in the French NM1 (third division) in Saturday night's game. Cherry was MVP of the game. He recorded 21 points and added 8 passes. Cherry is ranked second on the list of the best passers in the league. He has very reliable stats this season: 14.5ppg, 3.1rpg, 6.3apg and 1.5spg.

Movistar Estudiantes (Liga Endesa) signed experienced 34-year old American forward Dylan Page (204-104kg-82, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee). He played this summer at Capitanes de Arecibo in Puerto Rican BSN league, but left. In three Liga Americas games he had 7.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.0apg. LEB Silver newcomer Aquimisa Queso Zamorano tabbed 29-year old Bahamas guard Dynile Forbes (190-87, college: La-Monroe). He played most recently at Al Ansar in Saudi Arabian SBL league. Planasa Navarra de Pamplona (LEB Silver) re-signed experienced 35-year old guard Inaki Narros (196-81). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 29 LEB Gold games he recorded 10.2ppg and 2.2rpg last season. LEB Silver will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
